A look at the CZECH SMALL ARMS VZ-58 chambered in 7.62x39.

This is a fairly old video, I'd like to re-do it with a much better camera and MUCH better editing, BUT my government has decreed, by bypassing parliament and democracy, that these are now prohibited, and it is to be presented to the government for destruction, because a population should be disarmed before you start abusing them.

I try and post a new vid every Friday, covering electronics, guns, renovations, motorsports, liquor, and pretty much everything else fun.

Don't find me on facebook,
Can't see me on instantgamms
Tweeters are just in my speakers.
Knock knock tik tok

(I just don't do social media, I don't see that it does anything except make people hate each other, and I really don't feel like hating on anyone today.)

Videos also posted to Bitchute, Rumble, Odysee, and soon many others!

Any time I get interested in any weapon I watch as many disassembly videos I can find. It is not the looks of the gun, car, or tool that make it great, but the design of the insides. The ruggedness yet the simplicity is what sold me on this rifle. If you're interested in an extremely reliable design of a shotgun, check out the Winchester sxp. You could Take it apart and put it back together blindfolded.

The mags here in Czech Republic cost about 2 dollars :)

Thanks! I've come to really like the 7.62x39, in my case in a Norinco SKS. I really like the SKS but was wishing for more capacity and didn't like the various mods for same so I started shopping around for AK-47's but I wasn't crazy about what you get (stamped etc) in 2016 prices (high). My next thought was an AR/AK hybrid system but read mixed reviews about them (self build), necessary "tweaks" and of course a gas vs piston system so I remained hesitant. Finally, I lucked upon some reviews of VZ 58s and CAI VZ2008's and realized my search was over! I really like the look of your VZ58 but went the VZ2008 route. Mine's coming in this week!

I have the same gun in standard trim. Costs only 345 euro in Belgium ( about 400 US dollar ). Amazing gun! Just added an ZENDL compensator. Great gun for the money!

Thnkx for sharing...I am going to look into getting one of those.  Any thoughts on the rumors of the RCMP going after the LAR and Beo mags?

Hey man great review ! Thanks for taking the time to make this.... 5 years later I see on cabela's website 1500 before tax or shipping... ouch ! $1000 was a deal, 5 year update hows it doing ? I see you have the better CSA, walther barrel, chrome lined, all new, no surplus parts like the VZ's... nice ! Cheers

great vid I'm in the market with in the next year to get a new black rifle in 7.62x39 want an ar type if possible without the high cost of mags..thanks for this vid..has me thinking
  • Hey man. Great vid, my favourite rifle and I intend to buy one soon. Just a few questions. 1. What do you think about the trigger? 2. What does it group at 100 yards for you? 3. Any reliability issues? 4. Does the muzzle brake reduce accuracy for you? How does it affect the sound of it? 5. How would you compare it's accuracy to ur ar-15s? Thanks

Nice vid bro, could you tell us where did you buy the sight adapter?

I have an engineering question for you. Why is the vz58 receiver milled and not a stamped receiver like an ak or an aluminum receiver like the ar?
  • @kevinarndt2011
I noticed you left one key part out about the rifle. I did not see or hear you talk about the cutout in the bolt that allows you to feed stripper clips into the mag!
  • @Akira-nw4jl
The receiver on a VZ Has to be milled because of the bolt lockup design. If you look underneath the rifle you will see how this ocurrs. On an AR and AK the rotating bolt locks with the barrel. The receiver does not have to be that strong. Comparatively, the Browning design for a pistol locks the barrel to the slide, and thus Glock understood this and made their receivers plastic. It wasnt that the VZ designers didnt know this but rather they engineered the smoothest bolt lockup that exists by doing it this way. With the springs off, if you push the bolt back and forth in the receiver by hand, you could almost swear that there are roller bearings inside. It's that smooth. Thus the high ciclic rate.

How this different than the prohibited 858?
  • @RANKOR788
Front sight is metric cause its from europe, so its in meters btw. Not sure what that "U" means though
  • I thought you only slap the trigger for shotguns? For rifles aren't you supposed to pull at an even speed and be surprised by the shot?
