I was born in 92 but grew up with 80s songs. I love Billy Idol and Tears For Fears. They're still making music to this day.

Bill Idol's "Mony Mony" was the # 1 song in America on November 21, 1987 overtaking Tiffany's "I Think We're Alone Now" which was the # 1 song in America from November 7 to November 20, 1987. It was two remakes of Tommy James and the Shondells hits that went back to back # 1.

I don't remember much from my early childhood in the early 90's, but I could NEVER forget this song. Now 30(ish) years later, I'm learning it with my cover band. Can't wait to unleash this one at our next gig!

Tommy James and the Shondells first recorded this in 1968 and it went to #1. Billy does a fantastic rendition. Love Billy!!!

this song will always give me nostalgia
  • I attended a Billy Idol concert back in 1984 at the New Orleans Lakefront Area and it was a great concert and I'll never forget it; he didn't just sing but he put on a show! I only wish I could have gotten closer to the stage. It was a great time to be alive unlike today; I miss it terribly!

i love this song.... he was Never considered 'heavy metal or acid rock ' not by any of us...he was plain rock n roll which is okay too.

This was the perfect song for Billy Idol's voice and persona. The production and backing vocals are also flawless. Bonus points for being a relatable song for multiple generations! I was in high school when this version can out and it was powerful. The kids in my school were not really into anything new wave, so this was a good transition for them and also made my life a bit easier for me (and my friends into new wave and punk music) socially.
