  • Fun fact, the VAs for Mukohda and Ninrir are siblings IRL. Uchida Yuuma and his older sister Maaya.

The tiny bones you referring to are known as pin bones. Despite their less than appetizing name they are indeed edible. However, it's best to remove them before cooking the fish to prevent possible choking hazards. According to my uncle who loves fried smelt (dipped in lemon juice, covered in breadcrumbs, and pan fried in butter) they are crunchy like Rice Krispies.

slime sandwich?! 😭 lmaooo anyway sweet red bean paste is common filling for bread. dorayaki is pancake-like bread usually with red bean paste in the middle but there are other fillings too like chocolate

I think hot sake might be a nice pair with something that has strong smell or flavor. If you want to see how Japanese people pair alcohol with their food, I recommend you react to Isekai Izakaya "Nobu" and Wakakozake. Isekai Izakaya "Nobu" anime has quite short episodes with extra section at the end of each episodes where either the IRL chef cook something that appear in that episode or someone give food tour in Japan to find good restaurants with foods that appear in that episode. Wakakozake is a very short anime with only 3 minutes per episode about a working woman who loves to eat foods paired with some drink.

You could practice the same cooking techniques with real fish. Violet trout = Brook or Lake trout King Trout = King/Chinook Salmon
