Cracking isn't always the sign of a successful adjustment. The movement itself with or without the "pop" sound is what matters. Sounds like a very inexperienced chiropractor

That chiropractor was a dork...a genuine one would know that you should never force it...leave it if doesn't pop

As a Manual therapist, I was always taught from day one, we are not chasing the crack/pop, if we chase the sound it means we do not understand the anatomy. A successful adjustment means improvement, or return to the normal biomechanic range of movement of a joint, muscle, tendon or ligament, with or without an auditory pop. If the soft tissue surrounding the joint is mobilized and has the correct elasticity/lengthened the joint will correctly reseat itself in most cases. With harder HVLA maneuvers we would approach with the muscular system first, manually and also applying passive joint ROM, gradually increasing intensity. Most cases forcing an adjustment after several failed attempts shocks the body to a point of self protection as in it self preserves by over tightening some areas, forcing against it might over stretch the nerves, minor tear to muscles, tendons, fascia and ligaments. With an area that stuck, it's built up over time/accident, the nerves and spinal cord has changed shape a little also, so any sudden extreme changes can cause the nerves to stretch too quickly, like a live wire touching surfaces due to the unstable extra spaces.

My chiropractor literally changed my life. After years of problems from a snowboarding accident, went through a couple Physiotherapists that sipped coffee while they had me ride a bike or put electrodes on me. My GP just prescribed stinger and stronger pain meds. Dr. John was the only one that investigated and cared enough to help figure out the CAUSE of the problem. in a couple weeks I could play sports again, get back to work and really be myself. The internet hates on chiros but they really change a lot of peoples lives, you don’t know until you’ve been through something like this. the logic people like in this video use, is “I had a bad experience / reaction with one professional, therefore all of the professionals are bad”. imagine if we said that about other healthcare professionals…. Every year hundreds of thousands of people DIE from normal procedural operations from nurses, GP’s and surgeons, but the internet doesn’t suggest all of them are bad! Use your brains people.
  • Wow! I’m so sorry you had to experience this.. I’m glad you’re much better now♥️✨🌷🥊

One of my fears with chiropractors is this, which is why no matter how many times I sometimes just want to have my back fixed quickly I refuse to go to a chiropractor even when my dad asks me and especially I fear they could do something to my lower body that I can't move anymore or that they could snap my neck (im a girl , 19 yrs old )😅
  • @SPNSO-js4hx
I incurred a neck injury from a chiropractor as well. Eventually it ruined my life. Why did I go to him in the first place? He was a friend of a relative and I wanted to help him get started in his new practice. Biggest mistake I ever made.

My first Chiropractor helped me alot with my shoulder and back pain. I moved out and believed all the chiropractor are good like that. Went to one of the highest review chiropractors in local. Turned out he injured my neck and my lower back too. Specifically L5 nerve damage. Feel pain in my left buttock and tailbone. I was still lucky than you that I was able to walking fine. Just struggling picking things on the ground. So you can never tell which chiropractor is good or bad
  • Many therapists didn’t know that poping sound is not the criteria for the right manipulation. It does matter only that therapist put right force to manipulate for therapeutic benefits.
  • That's just great Now I'm scared to go to a chiropractor because he might snap my neck😢💀
  • @ascales30
Exactly what happened to me! That motion when they turn you on your side and press down. The next day my back went totally out and I could not lift my pelvis off the ground. It lasted a few hours the first time. It started happening again about every 6 months. Imagine trying to do a push up and your pelvis will not lift up at all. Felt like a car was parked on my back.

I know i had my spine adjusted and heard it crack and I felt that . Now 20 years later feel the pain immensely .
  • Going to a chiropractor is like rolling a dice that the person will not ruin your health even if they are experienced. That’s the same reason I don’t volunteer for unnecessary surgeries.
  • @cheedam8738
I felt that too, not by a chiropractor, I sat down really hard with my lumbar relaxed and bent forward, sounded a really hard crack, then it hurt for the next week. Sprained muscle only thankfully.
  • @datoneg2004
I knew the problem soon as he said having trouble cracking you never crack something that doesn’t want to crack including fingers. Will leave you in pain.
  • When you said he finally was successful at cracking I laughed out loud. 😂 I was thinking about the bone
