Battle of Payne's Farm Continued . . . | Mine Run 160

Published 2023-12-01
We continue our tour of the Payne's Farm Battlefield as we commemorate the 160th Anniversary of the Mine Run Campaign. Join Dr. Chris Mackowski and Dan Davis. #mineruntour #paynesfarmtour

The members of the American Battlefield Trust have saved almost 1,400 acres of the Mine Run Campaign since 2002.

The American Battlefield Trust preserves America’s hallowed battlegrounds and educates the public about what happened there and why it matters. We permanently protect these battlefields for future generations as a lasting and tangible memorial to the brave soldiers who fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, and the Civil War.

Thanks for the video. I'm from Locust Grove and I have been all over the battlefield when I was a kid from hunting to riding a tractor in this field. I've tagged along with my older cousin metal detecting when it was owned by the Hurlock family. My kin are buried across the road at Zoar Baptist Church. Thanks for explaining the battle so very well.
  • Love this battlefield, so many great preserved trenches. When I could walk, I would hike the woods and find them.

Man! This has been a fantastic series. Ive learned so much, since I started watching last summer. I was a Cavalry Scout for 15 years, and know those were the tactics at the time, but man! After the first battle, I would have been like, "hey, this is going to sound crazy, b....ut." haha!
