Never would have thought that those little engines are $2100. Mind blowing.

As a grown man child, I seriously would’ve gotten one of theses years ago for my work bench but the 143,345,583 videos showing how hard they are to start really doesnt make it worth the mail mans time.

I'm a former mechanic, and electrician. You need to be careful when taking the cambelt off, the timing might be out,- which might be one reason it doesn't run properly. There should be an idle screw on the carburettor- this allows you to set the idle once it is running. It looks like you need to take it apart

Heck yes! Please turn this into a awesome project. Go Kev!

I think its already been mentioned but u need to run the vent line to fuel tank to pressurize it so it pushes fuel to the carbs. It was already running lean and then u sprayed it with nitrous which leaned it out even more. Poor thing didnt stand a chance! Would love to see it in the truck once u get it running right. The extra wieght in the front would be beneficial to a burnout rig imho.

Methanol killed it! It's not got any oil in it! But why didn't you connect the crankcase breather back to the fuel tank which would have pressurised the tank acting like a fuel pump.

Love your vids always so interesting and entertaining. And no unnecessary waste of time. Good work.
  • @minjiigo
lovely content! Well done, mate. Dumb question: you showed us a water pump, what about the oil pump? Could the engine have seized to work due to lack of lubrication? Looking forward to see what you guys find out about it

Yes, you should do it as a project. That’ll be so awesome.

Hey Kevin, those glow starters have a “potentiometer” in them. I was gifted a 2 cylinder engine and the glow starters wouldn’t make the glow plugs glow. I adjusted the little screw on the potentiometer to get them to glow on a 2S Lipo. The glow starters are also very finicky and you can burn out the plugs super easily. It’s a bad design.

Thank you Kev! Been wishing someone would do this since i seen a short with these engines on the bench!

I love the new Bi-Lingual format ! Very thoughtful 🤣:elbowcough:😅=))

Hello. This type of V8 engine also needs regular oil, because you put the factory oil in it, but it is not enough to keep the engine running. The engine was full of metal particles because you boiled the cylinders. Before starting for the first time, you have to put a little normal oil in it.

I would love to see this project come to life! Please do it Kev.

So glad to see this, I have been struggling with the idea of getting one wondering if they are reliable and easy to use…
  • Tank wasn’t pressurized. Also supercharged with nitro on a brand new engine is crazy.
  • @GoWstingray
When i was a kid, i found one of those silver nitrous oxide systems in my mums knicker drawer, always wondered what it was for, I never knew she had a interest in RC though.

I Know this sort of thing can be frustrating. But from what you said it was lean and you were venting pressure from the crank case to atmosphere instead of the fuel tank and throwing a dense oxygen charge at it to boot. These engines have been proven to work and work well. I would love to see your project! But at least give the engine a chance.Love the content.I was just hoping for more. The arm chair know it all LOL!

First mistake, using water as coolant. Second mistake, using non nitro fuel in it, third mistake trying to use nos, your lucky this little thing did not explode sending shrapnel in your face. When the coolant line blew nitro onto you telling you the head gasket was blown already mixing nitro into your water before the water boiled blowing the coolant line onto you, also its a bit above my head but i would think you would need to change the timing if you use non nitro fuel or nos, i would not recommend nos, its an aluminum engine and i know real aluminum engines cant handle nos, i would not expect this little guy to handle it even if it was steel. Awesome video dude, dont underestimate these little engines, they can throw a rod through their little oil pans and blocks like a real engine. Id also reccomend safty glasses at least, i dont think you want nitro/nos/fuel/oil in or shrapnel in your eyes.
