Think of magnesium as the relaxation mineral. Anything that is tight, irritable, crampy, and stiff—whether it is a body part or even a mood—can be a sign of magnesium deficiency. This critical mineral is actually responsible for over 600 enzyme reactions and is found in all of your tissues—but mainly in your bones, muscles, and brain. You must have it for your cells to make energy, for many different chemical pumps to work, to stabilize membranes, and to help muscles relax. Yet, so many of us are deficient in this important mineral.

In today’s episode of a new series called Health Bites, I discuss why magnesium deficiency is a huge problem, why most of us are deficient, how to identify if you are magnesium deficient, and what to do about it.

This episode is sponsored by ButcherBox and Athletic Greens.

  • Nobody has covered all these things about magnesium so precisely. Simply wonderful and most helpful messages to anyone with unexplained health issues. Magnesium in moderation as a supplement is safe and shall be taken in consultation with the physician in case of other health problems. I personally have been benefitted even with very low doses of supplements for my muscle cramps and poor sleep. Great video Sir. Thankyou.........
  • You have been so instrumental on reclaiming my health this last year. I still drink a modified smoothy daily (with homemade milk Keifer now) that you have in your book "10 Day Detox Diet", which contains all those nuts that most people don't take. I did have to drop the almond butter, but it is a good start to the day.

Hello and thank you for all you do! Could you please make a video on adenomyosis? I am struggling to get answers on how to repair my uterus. Thank you!

I was so magnesium deficient and symptomatic that the docs thought I had ALS. Took nearly two years to figure out it was something so simple to fix.
  • Avocado, hemp hearts and pumpkin seeds are great for magnesium. Great video!
  • Thank you for addressing this very important crisis that our world does not realize how it’s affecting oriole’s lives. So many young adults are telling me they’re anxious. Our dirt is depleted in many minerals. Of course it will affect the crops grown.
  • Many Many Thanks. I really cry for my past days I spend with MDR.
