  • Zeltik: "You could call him a Shadow Legend" Everyone: Softly "Don't." Zeltik: "Raid Shadow Legends..." Everyone: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  • No matter the Zelda title. The temples found in forests are always iconic.

I like to think the kokiri realized they could leave the forest and are now hidden in plain sight. Whether or not she’s a kokiri, I 100% believe that Agitha was at least meant to be a reference to them in Twilight Princess. There’s three women in castle town who share a unique feature that I believe to be a nod to their missing people in TP; Agitha, Telma, and Fanadi all share the trait of having three dots under their eyes (Green, red-orange, and purple of course). Agitha is a child who lives alone with a giant tree in her house and has a fascination with glowing insects (like fairies perhaps?). Telma has red hair and the symbol on her apron could be interpreted as a stylized gerudo symbol. Fanadi has a weeping eye symbol on her forehead and red eyes, a common trait among the sheikah. Also, Fanadi's original japanese name was "Imparess", a play on Impa's name.

I love these twilight princess theories. I feel like twilight princess is one of the most mysterious zelda games, as the temples and bosses are never really quite explained...
  • @Marandahir
I’m surprised you never mention that the boss room tree looks greyed out compared to other trees in the temple - the same way the Great Deku Tree was after it died - and inside the boss room looks incredibly similar to the watery basement of the Great Deku Tree (metal grates and all). I’d say this is the strongest argument for the Temple being Kokiri Forest. The figure on the artwork looks more to me like one of the Monkeys rather than a fairy - perhaps depicting a Monkey using the wind powers of the boomerang. It could also be Faron the light spirit itself, being that Faron is a monkey in this game.
  • @brotherpanda
I never realized until now that the TP monkeys have fur on their face in a shape similar to Majora's Mask's eyes.

This might be total crap, but perhaps by TP, the Kokiri, under the guardianship of their new Deku Tree, had already taken the form of Koroks. Without the Great Flood, it might seem unnecessary, but Breath of the Wild proves that some evolutions may occur even if what we perceive as their original cause, don't happen; the Rito evolved from the Zora, due to the aforementioned flood, yet in BotW both they AND the Zora still live side by side. BotW's own spot in said time line might be questionable for some, but in it, regardless of time, the Kokiri are gone, and the Koroks exist. The point of this is that, in BotW, most people cannot SEE the Koroks; they are basically unnoticeable to all but a few souls, and can linger practically anywhere. Even that Link, who can see Koroks, can't ALWAYS see them; they may duck and hide from him, as he approaches, or wait till he's finished their game to reveal their presence. Even when moving around to get him to give chase, they make an effect for him to follow, but aren't themselves visible. While it might seem like a trait only the BotW Koroks have, maybe the TP Koroks also have it, and due to their nature, or the danger in the world, they are simply hidden. They don't have a history with this Link, and even many who might've been present to see Link c l aim the Master Sword, in BotW, still avoid Mr. Hero, just because that's how they normally are. Perhaps they are there, but just invisible; waiting and watching to see what type of turn the world will take.

If we conclude, that the Forest Temple and the Temple of Time are all included in the massively expanded lost woods and considering the woods being as magical as they are, we could just as well conclude, that the Kokiri are still living in the Lost Woods, but in a part that the woods won't let outsiders into. The Link in OoT was an exception, as he grew up with the Kokiri, but Twilight Princess Link, who is a grown ass almost-adult with no connection to the Hero of Time other than his spirit, would not enjoy that privilege.
  • @rezahydra
The more accurate comparison to Kokiri Village is actually Ordon Village. The entire design of it actually fits perfectly. The exception to this being the ranch.

I've always thought it likely that the skull kid we encounter in Twilight Princess could be THE GHOST OF the skull kid from Ocarina of Time/ Majora's Mask. The lantern he carries as he leads us deeper and deeper into the forest is nearly identical to the one's the poes carry in TP, plus I just get the sense Skull Kid is supposed to the one and only of his kind. I think It would be so fittingly eery and sad to imagine skull kid waiting decades upon decades for his favorite playmate to wander back into the woods, even in the afterlife. I always got the sense the way he immediately starts to f*ck with Link even while trying to help that he felt it was a reunion.
  • @MarkerMurker
"You could call him a Shadow Legend..." Terrible. I love it.
  • @snek616
You might not like it, but twilight princess has THE most atmospheric dungeons in the game
  • @Aukejorrit
I need this for every twilight princess temple. Those temples are so deep in lore and style that you could make this a series and have every episode be as interesting as this one!
  • @ridge_9580
That was the smoothest ad transition I've ever seen
  • @jerevaz7184
Link is older than he's ever been. The Kokiri only show up to kids. Link just coudn't see them. :P
  • @davisbowe8668
Since we're on the subject, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the Sacred Grove from TP, which are theorized by some to be the ruins Ocarina of Time's Castle Town due to the stone ruins surrounding the area and of course the appearance of the Temple of Time. It's been theorized that the Castle Town in TP isn't the same Castle Town from OoT and that the Royal Family migrated north after the events of OoT (possibly due to some sort of war with Ganondorf and/or the Gerudo that left the original Castle Town devastated), which explains why Death Mountain is to the east in TP rather than to the north like it is in virtually every other Zelda game. It could be theorized that after the Hylians moved north, the ruins of original Castle Town were overgrown by woods and became the Sacred Grove. Though of course there are some things that do contradict this, such as the locations of Zora's Domain, Zora River, and Lake Hylia (but that could just be explained away as typical Zelda geographic fuckery), but I always thought it was an interesting theory nonetheless as I can think of no other explanation as to why the Temple of Time somehow moved from HCT to being surrounded by a huge forest (also the location of the Sacred Grove on TP's map in relation to Death Mountain and Faron/Ordon Woods kinda makes sense). I know this doesn't have much to do with the video in question, but watching it did makes me think of this and didn't have anywhere else to post it.
  • I always thought the Kokiri were gone because they were in cocoons or something turning into Koroks
