Jake is wise, but he’s also the reason that wisdom and intelligence are two different stats.

"Dying together sucks a little less than dying alone" is sadder in retrospect.

You forgot the best one: "The shapes are always changing. Changing is their normal state, like us. Even if we're not changing on the outside, we're changing on the inside constantly. There's some stuff about me that I've been ignoring for a long time. I'm afraid of that stuff. But it's part of who I am. As long as I know the shape of my soul, I'll be alright." That's my favorite quote in the entire show. Possibly in life.

Jake getting so many opportunities for cosmic power and denying it for sandwiches is honestly a way I'd wanna live my life. It also reflects a silent character development, in that he doesn't need control to be happy.

Sacrificed his favorite cup so finn could learn from it what a good boi

Jake was a well developed character

I once saw one interview where Pen described Jake as "one dog that gives terrible advice" . And, indeed, Jake can be really stupid sometimes. That's part of the joke, besides the humanization Jake, in the end of the day, still a dog. He has a short attention span, is always interested in food and has no goals or agenda, besides amusing himself. And that's the brilliant part of it. For having such low standards and simple mindset, Jake involuntarily becomes zen, dropping periodically some truths about pain, struggle, love and, mostly important, how in the big picture all those things do not matter that much. While Jake's intentions sometimes can be dubious, or just straight up selfish, his wisdom comes from his simple mind. Perhaps Diogenes was right. Living like a dog can be a virtue.

Finn: what about tier 15- Jake: YOU STAY AWAY FROM THAT Finn: … Jake: DO NOT DO TIER 15- Dam jake you good?

"You get everything you want the moment you want it, what's the point of living?" Him wishing for sandwiches all the time kinda makes sense now
-
Jake grew to be a wise responsible dog in the end.
-
I like how Jake pretty consistently has dumb, silly, worthless advice, but every now and then he drops some genuine pearls that are so profound they can be applied in real life
-
"STAY AWAY FROM THAT! DO NOT GO TO TIER FIFTEEN!"
-
Jake always reminded me of a drunk sage. Full of untold wisdom but also at various stages of inebriation during the day.
-
Jake was honestly so wise, he just hid it behind his goofy personality
-
Jake is the perfect representation of what I want my life to be like in this world. Just coasting through life... enjoying every moment as it comes
-
"To live life, you need problems" as a child you laugh at Jake, as an adult you understand him
-
His explanation of law hurts with how true it is…
-
Jake would make the best therapy dog. He's honest and gives great advice on everything.
-
I love the fact that he threw away his perfect cup just to teach his friend a lesson
-
Jake really busted his favorite cup no hesitation just to help his bro feel better all while spitting some wise junk. A real friend.
