I've learned that the wood is always either 1/4 to 1/2 shorter than what it's labeled. You did a great job on it!

Thanks for sharing, i just encountered the large gaps between the top board and vertical boards so now i am searching on you tube to help fix this.

I have an uneven spot on the wall behind one of the battens so the top board has to sit out a tiny bit. You can always shim to hide the gap at the end

I prefer the mistake to that flat flushed look! ❤ - that 1/2 inch top batten I believe it was.

Looking at your measurements your spacer is 8''3/32 not 8''3/8 that is why the end panel is 1''1/8 shorter than the others but great job looks good
