This EGO is awesome. I will be making this available with our OG Spec kits on the store soon. As for the Active 2.3, the jury is still out for me, it's really, really loud.

The 2.3 is actually serviceable, they released a video yesterday about servicing and replacing the oil on the unit.
  • Ego just solved a problem with for us midwestern people that can’t use our pressure washers in the winter months just need a bucket of warm water with a rinseless wash and siphon from the bucket

Thanks for all that you and your people do, Matt. Looks like I'm still good with my recently acquired Active 2.0 (with your upgrades) for my recently acquired really-nice-car. Learning a lot from OG now that I've chosen to up my car-care game.

Purchased an Active 2.3 and its a pretty solid machine. I would have loved an AR630 but I don't have the ability to add a dedicated 20A circuit to my garage at the moment, maybe in the future. I did toss the included accessories and picked up a Griot foam cannon, and the Mosmatic gun / wand kit, also very solid. Pretty happy with everything. I may pickup a cart and build out a wash cart for the garage. With weekly washes on my car and my wifes car, the unit "should" last for years, but we'll see. For $560 (w/ coupon), I am willing to take on this as an experiment.

I don't regret my EGO pressure washer purchase, I did buy the double 12AH batteries from the OG store. The 6s are good, but I tend to like large vehicles. The last thing I want to think of is battery charge. Can't beat the portability, I do detail friends and family cars at their house and this removes the power supply concern far as amp draw and popping a breaker. A lot of people have 15 amp extension cords and wall outlets. I know there is a run time gain with the 12 amp, just curios if the is a performance gain, too. Doubt it, but I don't have measuring devices or the patience to run thru the same tests you run. To me it is either it works or it don't test.

I've been waiting patiently for this test video. I took a leap of faith based on intuition from the prerelease videos over at CSW and bought one in February. I just placed an order at OG this week and have a 3.0 Mosmatic nozzle and Griots Foam cannon with the 1.1 orifice coming. I've decided to use the OE hose for now so I also ordered the Prevost Hose Holder for storage. I will be using the OG spec sprayer and wand I got awhile back when I ordered the original Active. My detail cart has 20 gallons of water on board from four military water jugs, two of which are dedicated for distilled water and is easily replenished at my garage. I was using a janky Worx Hydroshot so this summer is gonna be a whole lot of fun washing cars!

EGO really needs to come out with a 110v adapter for some of these tools to make them dual use. Many people don't want to buy a bunch of expensive batteries and have to swap them out while they are working in their garage with power available. But if you had a vacuum, pressure washer and fan that could be used continuously while in the garage and then pop a battery in them when you need to go mobile...that would be awesome. EDIT: I heard Tommy have the same idea at 25:30, you should have him start badgering Chris Metcalf about it.

Great review on the EGO....love mine. Moreover, NOTHING comes close to its portable performance. Hell, I would put it up against some top electric power washer to boot. Your EGO recommendation upgrades are exactly what I ended up going with back in February. .. wand, hose, and Boss setup. In short, the unit is OUTSANDING....glad you will be stocking them. Lastly, you should have tried CARPRO ReTyre!
  • @johnnelwhite
With the ego get a 100 ft hose sit it in your bathroom and use your bathtub for a water source. Run the 100 ft hose out the window to your car outside.
  • @xringarcher1440
Love my ego pressure wash….so much so that I broke down and purchased a 2 pack of their 12 amp hour batteries for superior run time. They’re expensive but the thing has been simply amazing since having bought it, it deserved it.
  • @gizmosfere
I've had the ego pressure washer since it was released and I love it. I can't wait for the ego pressure washer package. Get that worked up on the store, and take my money please! I live in a condo with a garage but no water spigot close. I bought a 25 gallon mixing barrel and elevated it on a shelf in the garage to gravity feed the water into the machine. Added a spigot to the bottom of the barrel and ordered the perfect length hose from the OG store. Plenty of water to complete a wash with quite a bit left over. Again please put that accessory package together.

I can’t wait to see your Ego powerwasher kit. I have a bunch of the Ego products so don’t need batteries but want your kit for the upgrades.

Great preview Matt, thank you. I’m a weekend warrior living in the northeast. Admittedly I’m surprised to see so many reviews struggling for use case beyond apartments and mobile detailers. I’ve been looking to buy/build out an electric pressure washer system for my home in New England but unfortunately worry about a wall mount solution with temperatures dropping below freezing in the winter months and also worry about the amp load of a system competing with all my other electrical needs in my garage despite being a new construction home. I have lots of lights, tv, chargers, dehumidifiers, etc. I contemplated a dedicated pressure washer cart option using an Active 2.0 or 2.3 but space can be a bit limited in my garage and basement (in the winter months). I’m not set up to wash in my garage, so I need to be prepared to do my cleaning out in a large driveway. I have a very thorough EGO ecosystem including multiple leaf blowers for drying my cars. I just purchased the pressure washer this weekend as it gives me a very quick all season pressure washing capabilities. It’s also relatively quiet, giving me more flexibility to wash earlier in the morning or later in the day to void the process of washing in direct sunlight, the ability to potentially use warm bucket water in cold weather is also appealing. Super excited about adding better OG pressure hoses and potentially shortening the distance from gun to nozzle. And there appears to be a premium foam sprayer with brass body coming in May. I’ve preordered that to see how it dispenses. Thanks again for the review!

You wondering what the frequencies they were making noise at made me curious. So, I plotted the spectrum of parts of your video. The Ego was distinctively loud at 240 Hz, while the Active 2.3 was distinctively loud at 524 Hz. But this could all be thrown off by the mic, the camera, distance, etc.
  • Yk was talking to my girlfriend about how much I love your channel and why I’ve been buying so much detial equipment for my job funniest thing I just realized is I wear the same shoe as you too haha!
  • @halxen
I'm wondering if anyone has looked at modding the Active 2.3 with a larger capacitor and 20A rated microswitch so it can be safely used with a 4.0 nozzle and 1.1 orifice. IIRC I believe it was Cars with Keav that tested the Active 2.3 with aftermarket foam cannons with different orifices and found that it draws up to around 18A.
  • @stevederosa1655
those who have used the active 2.3 it really isnt that loud, compared to a lot of others out there. its also nice it doesn't have that traditional high pitch squealing noise when you let off the trigger
  • @Bigshows93
Need to be able to put a tip right on the gun or a very short adapter/wand for cleaning wheels.
  • @user-yb2tp4qf1r
I have been using EGO Power+ for years, their batteries are the very good, heavy as hell but very robust and last long in terms of use and longevity. Buy the way, in my country the full set is.... $2386.80 🙂 Active 2.3 if fully serviceable.
