  • Phenolic spacers don't conduct a ground connection. Ground for that paricular coil is through threads of the screws.

Excellent information for me. My dad just had me hold the spark plug wire to see if it had spark. Never been the same since. Thanks for the video.

Always thorough and comprehensive attention and care from the medic. Greetings from the UK.

That tool is very specific to Stihl. Basicly, you check the plug wire at the coil for spark, but it needs to be strong enough for the engine it's designed for. This video is good for this brand of small engine.
  • Thank you, you helped me identify the kill lead as the problem. Fixed in a jiffy!
  • Excellent info per usual. Only if I could get my 110 to idle like that, (dang thing is kicking my butt) LOL, most of the time it will not stay idling but occasionally it does. As always, look forwards to leaning from you. Thanks and be well

Hi I saw on line someone repairing stihl coils and Selling them. The next no spark coil that came in l decided to strip it apart but found completely seal unit. I pressed the coil of the horse shoe and found corrosion on inside horseshoe and spring tension earth wire. I clean the corroded part and assemble and worked O K.
