Have this machine also, it is absolutely amazing. By the way you can manually turn the light in the machine on using the wrinkle guard button I believe hold it down for 3 seconds.

GE said they oversized the heat pump knowing families will max it out. Lol. So true. FYI, the GE heat pump is twice the size of the LG model.

I have this machine as well and absolutely love everything about it.
  • Thank you for the review. We have had ours a couple months. Bought mostly because of the 110 power & having a small space. I really like not having to move wet laundry to a dryer. The hardest thing to do is the maintenance cleaning. We deep clean the upper filter area with brushes & shop vac. Amazon hose/brush set less than $10. That lower filter valve is very difficult to access but needs frequent cleaning often especially if you have pets. We clean the lint catcher each load and it still got quite a bit of loose lint in the slot & on the right side grates where lint isn’t supposed to collect. I may try that high heat resistant tape hack from YouTube to eliminate some of excess lint collecting where not supposed to. I had a problem with machine starting a load and then shutting off minutes later without showing any error or trace of the load info in the app. It was time for an app update so I assumed the app was just glitching and I turned it on again and it shut off again. This was nearly disastrous because there was a sudden clog in the lower valve. The hair didn’t allow for the valve to be retightened and all the water from both started cycles poured out under machine, refrigerator next to it and under cabinet to the trash can (thankfully our tiny house has a bit of a slope because cabinet couldn’t be moved) but we moved the washer/dryer combo and refrigerator with appliance dolly to dry under them. Thankfully hardwood flooring is fine. Learn from my mistake and don’t ever restart cycle if it stops. We are also going to clean that lower valve trap more often even though it’s a hard and I’m going to try FurZappers to catch pet hair in washer bought on Amazon to control the hair going into filters. It’s a great machine - it just needs more cleaning effort than my old Speed Queen workhorses.

I bought mine shortly after watching your initial review among others. I love it as well. I put liquid laundry sanitizer instead of softener in the dispenser, maybe try that to avoid the low warning every time.
  • Love mine too. I got the pedestal free when I bought this machine. It was part of the Labor Day sale at Best Buy.

Great looking unit. For bigger families, you could put 2 of them where there used to be a washer & dryer and it'd really save some time. I'm not quite sold on the technology yet. I would love to see a 3 or a 5-year review. For me, it appears there's too much required maintenance compared to a typical washer and dryer and I don't believe they will have the average lifespan of a traditional front loader.

We've had ours for about two months now and have been very pleased thus far. As for the height off the floor/short OEM pedestal issue, before ours was delivered we purchased a rolling appliance base from Amazon for about $55 and had the machine placed on the base by the delivery men. The combo machine weighs 300 pounds, so it is much more difficult to move than a separate washing machine and dryer. Now, we can easily roll it in and out of its normal location (you know, to find the sock that's been trying to escape) and while it's being used, we can lock the wheels and lower the adjustable feet on the base (which also has built-in bubble levels on each side). Plus, the rolling base lifts the unit far enough off the floor to enable placing a small bowl or food storage container under the lower filter door to catch the water that pours out when you first remove it. Just be sure you purchase the base that adjusts between 27.5 and 35.4 inches per side, as the machine itself is about 29 inches wide at the base. According to the seller, the base can hold up to 1100 pounds, well in excess of the machine's weight.

I’m subscribing. Video’s great, my literal one and only request is please - please make more reviews as time goes on. 2 years, 3 years, 5 years and so on. Aspiring to get into real estate development, that 110v supply and dual function in compact space has me very interested in putting these into units; if they prove reliable in the long term.

Thanks for the great video. If you dont want to use fabric softner why not just turn off the option. It should be that simple. As for the drum light I think if you press and hold one of the options it will put the drum light on for a few minutes while the unit operates.

It’s nice to have the remote start because some people pay more $ for time of use. So u can remote start it on the way home and it can be ready by the time ur home. Or you if u mid shift u can remote start it at 8pm which is significantly lower $ than during the day.

It's an excellent machine I bought it watching your reviews and a couple others. Love it! I didn't want to pay the extra for the pedestal either but I used 8 inch cinder blocks. the machine does not jump around and if you don't want the look of the cinder blocks you can paint them. Perfect for draining the clean out and they are cheap... Thanks for your video... Cute pup in the reflection

I wanted to let you know that the filter on the bottom of the unit should be able to be drained before you open the filter. I literally just found this out about my Samsung washer. There should be a small hose. You unplug the hose and drain the water into a bowl or dish, and then once it's done draining, you can open the filter. A little water might come out, but it should gush out like you mentioned. Like I said, my Samsung washer has that same filter on the bottom that is supposed to be cleaned once a month. I hope that helps you! Live the video, btw. Wish I had known these were a thing before I had bought my washer and dryer lmfao.

Interesting info. I got one (Open box so saved over $1000) and it seems to work great. The only issues I have is it says 'Energy Tracking' and according to GE this is not supported, and the LED light will not come on with the 3 second press for some reason after a software update.

I installed our pedestal after the initial install. It was not easy. We are a family of 6 with two dogs and this works great.

Hey I would build sturdy platform. LG just released their version. I would go with GE model after reviewing both. Nice tutorial

We just bought this, we also only use cold water using an O3 to clean with.
