A guy ran second place the entire race until I didn't! A lot of action in this video, including me sending it way to hard in my friend Brian's Pacer!

  • When he stops his son from walking away to remind him he loves him did it for me. Don't be afraid to tell your kids you love them fellas
  • In next week’s episode, Derek picks up a totalled pacer from Florida and try to it drive 600 miles home.😂😂 Glad everyone is safe. Thanks again for taking us on your journey.

You sir are a humble role model of a man. Hard working, funny, kind hearted man that has figured out a way to take advantage of this life and how to be a good father. Thank you sir, I really enjoy ur content! You deserve a few wobble pops!
  • @Sigfried033
Derek, please do anything you find fun and would enjoy. We fans get a kick out of anything you do. Don't listen to the naysayers, we enjoy things because you have fun and enjoy them too. You and your family are amazing and thank you letting us ride along with you.

DEREK THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART! From a disabled vet of the Army Rangers. You are of a caliber of "human" that made my time in the Army worth every ache and pain I endure. THANK YOU.
  • @Tony-M
I was at the Freedom500, I was happy to meet you for a second to shake your hand. My family and I were right in the front row at the start of the back straight. We were all rooting for you. And then Tanner spun you out and I was shocked. Didn't he do the same thing three years ago to the leader of the 500? You said it yourself, you're a courteous guy, and your racing showed that. You had so many opportunities to take JH out, but that's not your style, you want to beat him, not cheat him. It even rhymes! :D
  • @timtheveg
Mate, you deserved 2nd place. I watched you in JH's video and you were driving like a boss. So gutted to see Tanner spin you out like that.
  • @andrewwilson866
Hey, Derek. This is Andrew. This is the one you said hi to personally.I want to say thank you and take care.

VGG on a Thursday? Did a feller have too many wobble pops last night?!

Shout out to Oh Oh O’Rilleys for that super sick rap. This car looks best outta all the cars. This was a great idea for them to come on board with the rap and show an even stronger sponsor ship with you in this race. I know they’re your people already but his shows their character of the fun in this hobby we all love. Great job with second place for so long. You was right there and your do to win one for us soon brother and I’ll be here yelling and supporting each time. Thank you for the hard work and effort from you and all the support your family gives you so you can entertain us.
  • Even though we blew up farm use, it was an honor to end up in your video. It’s surprising a 500 pick and pull engine lasted that long, with some name brand bolt ons and a spicy KSR tune considering we ran it at Bristol and last November there at the ff. hope to be ready for the event in Ct. also it was more like 8 quarts of oil. 😂
  • @joshuafinney3222
The narration on just before the wreak. Omg that was awsome. The guy who thought of that. That was comedy gold
  • I watched the whole thing live man. You ran just an awesome race. So close bud.
  • Hey Derek thanks for the love and including the jeepster on you channel. I hope to have the jeep rebuilt for Connecticut. Not to bad for not having a power adder.
  • @joebeach7759
Thank you so much for your representation for veterans and first responders. As a retired police officer and disabled veteran, it means everything to me. I feel like there aren't enough people out there like that anymore.
  • @obancameron
Got to meet a fellah in person and he even put some ink on a hat for my daughter. Hell of a guy, hell of a racer. Thanks for being at the freedom500 Derek, over 6000 kms round trip was worth it.
  • @markyworld7658
Love how Derek is a legit country boy racer. So good at driving with no "professional experience " . Just a farm boy who Can keep up with world class drivers!
  • Best part of this whole vid is at time stamp 13:43. The interaction between a father and his son. As a retired racer and pit boss I can tell you that these little interactions in the minutes before entering the track are worth as much as winning! - maybe ever more valuable.
  • Tanner should not be invited back. That was dirty as hell, completely uncalled for and frankly dangerous. You’re awesome Derek!
