  • "She put him out, like the burnin' end of a midnight cigarette." One of the most iconic and stone-cold lines ever used in a country song!
  • Anybody-" beautiful day! Nothing is gonna get me down!" Whiskey lullaby-"hold my beer..." Thanks for the reaction! Nice video!
  • Brad Paisley has two modes: incredibly goofy/silly, or incredibly serious/somber. He has no in-between
  • One of the realest songs ever written being sung by two angelic voices. Touches me every time I hear it.

Alison Krauss has the voice of an angel, no one sounds that pure. ❤

My dad was in WW2 and had a brief wartime marriage that ended as soon as he returned. Before he passed in 2012 I showed him this video. He was very sober and just nodded.
  • Alison's voice is angelic. She has won numerous awards. She was traditionally blue grass, but has been doing duets for awhile now. That's Ricky Schroder the actor in the video.
  • Everytime i hear Brads opening notes i get choked up! And its almost been 20years and i still am opening sobbing by the end of this song half the time. I got my dad into Brad Paisley for this song. He is a huge Alison Krauss fan!

To me it is a song about forgiveness . She gave into a weakness, but he could not forgive her, he held on to the pain, she reached out but held onto the guilt. It consumed them both. In the after life they found a way to forgive and set aside the guilt. Sad it has to wait until the afterlife. Could of been on this side of the dirt. It is sad but a good lesson for us.

When this song first came out. It was a Tragic Story. Everyone knew the basic story of the song. But when the video came along. It gave the story so much depth. So much more realness. It is a True Classic.

Whiskey Lullaby has always been my absolute favorite country song. Despite the painful story it's played so beautifully and the duet with Brad and Allison was perfect.

When she said “nothings gonna get me down” I knew it was over for her. This video and lyrics hit deep!
  • Alison is an angel in human form. Try "Just A Ghost In This House" or "When You Say Nothing At All". She is outstanding!

Tim McGraw - "Don't Take The Girl" always gets me... and George Jones - "He Stopped Loving Her Today" is a good one as well. They are both sad, but fun to watch people reacting as the story unfolds.
  • The actor is Ricky Schroeder (former child actor, been in a lot of different tv shows and such). He also directed the video and the little girl at the end is his daughter.

This song always chokes me up. I had my fiance break up with me while I was serving overseas in the Air Force. It took me twenty years, and a failed first marriage to a woman who deserved better to really move on. I'm not proud of how I dealt with it while I was in the military. It was a very dark time in my life. I buried that shit so deep, I repressed a lot of the memories of her. I ran into her on Facebook decades later. We talked for about a year. I found out she had been in a lot of bad relationships, booze, drugs... We both dealt with it in similar fashions. Neither one of us really got over the other. I found out she got cold feet, and suffered from PTSD after years of being raped by her step-brother as a teen. Of course, she never told me this. Looking back, I can see that fear and pain was there all along. I was too young, stupid, and in love to see it. She is married now with two kids and a grandson. I have since remarried someone I have known my entire life. It took me more than twenty years to learn there are "more fish in the sea". Life goes on. Some of the greatest gifts God gives us are the prayers he answers in his own way, not in the way we would have it. I've never told anyone this story in full before.
