Did no one else notice how ChatGPT knew the guy was onstage at 9:05? Even if the mic was left on it's crazy that it knew he was talking to someone else (the audience) and created the context that there was someone else being spoken to.

The part that really got me was during the coding example where you can actually hear GPT-4o taking a breath to speak

Can we just take a moment to acknowledge that we just saw the equivalent of a Star Trek universal translator? That used to be hard-core science fiction. Amazing. What other technology marvels will we see in our lifetimes?!
  • "We don't know who struck first, us or them. But we do know it was us that scorched the sky. At the time, they were dependent on solar power. It was believed they would be unable to survive without an energy source as abundant as the sun." ~Morpheus, 'The Matrix'

We humans tend to specialize in subjects or knowledge classes that appeal to us as we develop into adulthood. This specialization shapes our future self. Likewise a multitude of evolving specialized AI systems will provide the fabric for multimodal AI and future AGI. Language and interpretation systems will be at the center of this multi-disciplinary - amalgamation of AI systems. It will be almost impossible to determine if this amalgamation of specialization ever becomes self-aware until these individual systems start to seamlessly work together and can individually and collectively evolve through sharing and symbiotic means. Only then will the whole become greater than the sum of the parts - and sentience will be born.
  • I follow multiple AI YT channels. None of them covered this in the last 24 hours.😮 I am a new subscriber.

Just imagine how much education, healthcare and customer service will improve. Agents are going to be insanely helpful too. Only question is what are we going to do with all the new found time we will have!
  • @ExtantFrodo2
We each seriously need to have a memorized code word for family members, so that we can verify the "person in distress" on the other end of an emergency call is actually who they say (and sound like) they are.

I see Elon's point, in the fundamental problem of instructing an AI to lie.
  • I had forgotten Elon has Twitter. He is well aware of what is going on, especially with that reporter throwing out a Tesla question. He did bring up that bandwidth issue, I find it amazing that humans can do anything with such a slow bandwidth. There are clues there for new compute that is a low energy user.

Guys help, I’ve been stun-locked in a time loop of Wes Roth titles and I can’t get out

As a father to a four-year-old little prince, I earnestly hope and pray that we can pass on a better world to our children and future generations. I dread the thought of having to apologize to them for the state of the world we’ve left behind. Let’s strive for a future we can be proud to hand over

    "I don't think Business Insider is a real publication." 😂😂 👏👏👏
  • @Yewbzee
The human bandwidth problem that Elon discusses is such an under-rated issue.

we will start having star war movies where luke joined his father pretty soon
  • @TheMrCougarful
We have maybe 18 months to come to terms with this. What happens then, I cannot imagine, and that's a problem.
  • @moonshot85
Yup, I thought the same thing the first time I saw recall! This is to add additional data for training AI!
