What do you mean we don't make anything. We make burgers, fries, beer cans and criminals.

Remember when the government told us that we did not need stinky, dirty "manufacturing" jobs? That we should move to nice, clean IT jobs? And remember when the government told us that the IT jobs would be "outsourced" to places like India? Yah, I missed that memo also.

Teslas are just elon-gated junk. I'll keep driving my Oldsmobile Toronados.

John Deere doesn't want farmers to repair their own equipment. They will eventually go out of business.

Took my family of 6 out for dinner last night to celebrate a birthday. A few appetizers to share, sodas for all, stacked burger platters for everyone, and a tip: $180. Most importantly, everyone had a good time and connected. What caught my eye: We were the only ones there.
  • Manufacturing in the Midwest has been going down since the 1990s. All thanks to Bill Clinton and Camp.
  • @GWAYGWAY1
They stuffed it when they decided to impose a no repair policy and force farmers to go to a dealership by denying the means to repair anything of note. farmers don’t like that and cannot afford to pay dealer repair prices.
  • It isn't just manufacturing that is broken in America, everything is broken.

I make 3 million pounds of beef a year and am proud to do it but the developers think it’s best to build cookie cutter houses on prime land instead of feed ourselves. Fools.
  • @steved0123
Wrong. We make more trouble than the world can shake a stick at.

I am a designer and small manufacturer celebrating my 30th year in business. People like me will be the future. Small micro businesses. I try to buy made in USA for raw materials as much as possible. I think our new economy will be mostly regional small businesses. As a seamstress i can also repair your clothes when there is no money to buy new. People need multiple talents to survive.

The PROBLEM with weak manufacturing is:: most of the decision-makers sit in temperature/weather controlled offices and dream of electricity coming from the Sun....and nothing else is needed (water, petroleum, steel, plastics, wood furniture, textiles, glass, cement mix, tools, utensils, appliances, er cetera) All those items result in some dust, noise, congestion. SO, the "thinkers" in their wide seats in their cubicles want all that noisy production GONE. (The pendulum will swing the other way when other countries control the U S A ..Junior's play station will be confiscated and burned. Susiebelle will loose her $1,000. assortment of make-up & wigs).

You go, Dan!!! I'm a Community Mgr. Apartments. These young people don't even know how to use a PLUNGER! If they even know what a PLUNGER is!
  • @paulbaker5085
You are wrong Dan we make money to give to other countries .
  • @larryappel341
The US is no longer business friendly; companies and money go to where it's treated best. Sometimes, the only way to win is not to play.
  • @buffalohead7783
Shoplifters create street vendors and mugging create hip hop artists. American ingenuity.
  • @dmark6699
That's the Global plan. Things are getting too expensive here.
  • Dan,we are the number 1 producer of printing "money" in the world.Nobody else is even close.
