GOAT ROCKS WILDERNESS & KNIFE EDGE - DAY 127 | PCT 2019

Published 2019-10-07
Day 127 of my Pacific Crest Trail journey.
MILE 2269.2-2287.4

I get asked a lot about support on my hikes. I never ask or expect anything as I enjoy vlogging my journey and sharing it with likeminded people. However, if you let the adverts run and not skip them I can earn a little bit of pocket money from this! For those of you who continue to ask how to donate, my PayPal account is; paypal.me/marymansfield79

Filmed using;
↠ Canon PowerShot G7X MarkII - amzn.to/2TMr0mV
↠ Pedco Ultralight II Tripod - amzn.to/2UC4VrY

Thank you for taking the time to watch my video, I appreciate it so much.

  • Oh, Mary...I wish this was closer by far to real time! I am so sorry for the loss of your Tramily and wish I could have said something funny to make you smile when Keebler left! I know that you are probably done by now...or very nearly so...and if I am catching you on trail, I want you to know how lovely it has been to see your exploits, know some of your joys and fears, learn as you learn about the trail and the plans that go awry at times but always seem to work out in the end. You have brought joy into my life and my heart, and I just wanted that thought to be with you when you get back to the Bridge of the Gods. America will be a lesser place when you take your leave, but I am sure that somewhere in that great big heart of yours, there will always be a soft spot for the purple mountains majesty that still lives here and awaits your return...as many of us do. Thanks for including us in your travels, and I hope to see that continue when you can!

"WOW" is right - crazy and magnificent. . .the sort of thing that leads to life changing experiences. Thanks for sharing, Mary!
  • What a way to end a last day with nothing but views instead of a green tunnel , Keebler well done and for taking care of Mary . Such a beautiful day through the Goat Rocks when hikers were getting the misty fog and cloud cover in Sept and snow in the last week . Mike went through the GR when the snow fell from Cispus Pass on northward and so did Feathers and IBTAT.
  • Love seeing the friendships that develop between long distance hikers. Very cool. Keebler is a good guy.
  • It is sad that your tramily has disbursed. But, we know bear-hang and Keebler made wish decisions for their family and selves. Y’all will ever be in one another’s heart. Y’all made it thru some of the biggest challenges of your life. Forever grateful for the time well spent. I hope both of the guys will one day be able to finish their thru hike. Thank you for sharing y’all’s epic journey 😊
  • Aw I’m in tears ...thought you and Keebler would make it to the end....but so many good memories and thanks to him for looking after you. Hope he gets to finish next year....and hoping you had a good last part to your adventure.....we have to wait to see x

Set about peeling apples for a pie while I watch your progress. Teary eyed myself. Emotional doesn't begin to describe how you must have felt that day. And days to come, I'll bet. (No more falling off mountains without heroes about!)

I enjoyed this. You opening picture of the trail is beautiful. I give you so much credit on doing this hike as it is not easy. Wish I could have hiked with you, you seem like a wonderful person. I live in NE Oregon. You live in England, you should spend more time in the western USA hiking and sharing on YouTube. Thanks for sharing.
  • LOVE!!! Just found your channel!! I hiked the PCT sobo in 2016 & I am returning to it for PCT Trail Days in Cascade Lock and then heading back up to Goat Rocks for a 50 mile section. Can't Wait!! Happy Adventuring!! ~Siesta

A multitude of different terrains all in one day...# miles just not the goal...emotionally you just do you, it is to be expected. It is difficult to lose a trail partner, no matter why, a big loss. You are a warrior, give in to yourself without judgement. 💚💙

What can I say just a cracking video again Mary. Big thank you for sharing your journey with us.

What a beautiful day to do Goat Rocks and knife’s edge!
  • @rthoreson5018
Kinda sad not gonna lie. Hope you finish and if not then I’ll have something to look forward to watching another year. You and Keebler were an iconic duo. Cheers
  • Oh hey! I met you that day, right before the knife’s edge. Goat Rocks was the highlight of my section hike; made for one heck of a birthday. Glad I asked about your channel and could see all of this portion of the trail for a second time.
  • Sorry to hear that Keebler is getting off the trail. You will do fine and you will find a new trail. I love the Goats Rocks area. Just keep pushing on. We are all with you.❤️👍

Sweet Mary... so sorry to hear about Keebler. I how the two of you have become close over the past weeks. That's so sad to lose such a good friend on the trail. Stay safe and know that you'll meet others along the trail that will help fill that void. You remain in our thoughts and prayers. Stay safe and God bless you.... Ax
  • Very beautiful. Absolutely a clear day. And just when you thought the snow was gone

Hello Mary, happy Monday to you. I'm sorry to hear that your hiking companion is leaving the trail. With your charming bubbly attitude you have to be the best hiking companion on the PCT. With this 'Back to future video' it is already October 7th. The very best to you, always, in good health, safety and happiness. 🤗
