@min 2:45 you are talking about brett kulak, but that's a picture of brown,

Kane would have been a impact if he was healthy in a Stanley Cup final that came down to a one goal difference. They need Kane and the type of sand paper game he brings.

Kane is a force. I would hate to lose him. The biggest question is, can Kane be healthy? He is a game changer and loves to be in Edmonton.
  • @mikejessmax
A healthy Kane is a force, get him fixed and keep him.
  • @jg6693
I agree with others. Kane has a unique skill set and we should be looking to keep him, especially if we can get him healthy and have him start the year on LTIR. Ceci is the guy we can and need to move out. Ceci at 3.25m on the bottom pairing makes no sense.
  • I think his absence made a big difference. Missed him and don't want to see him go.

Kane's health was the issue during the playoff. If he was at least 80% healthy during the final. The results might be different today.

If they can trade Ceci for cap space to sign Holloway and Broberg, why would you not keep Kane. He could play on literally any line considering the teams depth going into the season. I mean if our 3rd line is Janmark Henrique Brown, and our 4th is Kane Holloway and Perry, or maybe Kane takes Nuges spot, they’ve got a good roster.
  • Evander is my guy, keep him with the Oilers. He is a force to be reckoned with.

I don’t understand why Kane’s name was even brought up for a trade. His numbers have been great, he’s coming off a 24 goal season. I would give him as much time as he needs to heal even if that means starting him on LTIR at the beginning of next season. As for Holloway and Broberg, they are both RFA’s, I’m not sure about Holloway, but I believe that Broberg can’t go to arbitration, so are they really going to get more than they were qualified for? As much as I would love to bring a true top 4 RD, the defensive group was really good last year after Coffey took over and are you really going to find an upgrade on Ceci that costs as the same or less than him? I hate to say it but it looks like Kulak would be the odd man out if Broberg is going to play on the main roster all season. Honestly I like the team now, the only change would be another top 4 RD for Ceci if they can make it work.

The Oilers lost the cup because they were missing Kane. He would have added the physical play and a few goals, especially neutralizing Chucky. Cap-wise the Oilers don't have an issue if they move Cody Ceci. Ceci can be moved, although the Oilers have to include a mid-round draft pick with him. Holloway and Broberg are $1 million per each on bridge deals. The Oilers aren't moving Kudlak. They picked up two right-side D to replace Ceci and Desharnais. The biggest issue is where to place Kane on the roster. He's too good to play on the fourth line. I'd suggest he plays with Henrique, and Holloway on the right side. The fourth line would be Janmark, Brown, and Ryan unless they bring in a right-shot center with size. I can see Ryan being the 14th forward. Perry the 13th.

I think kane should stay . Hes tough and resilient. Scores when he has to. Acurate. Maybe expensive but is one reason we got where we did. In my humble opinion.

Why wasn't Kane put on LTIR in January when it was obvious to anyone looking that something was wrong? Could have pulled a Vegas and brought back Eberle for the playoff run and had a 100% Kane.
  • @rossmartens
Why is Kane even on the radar dude is hurt and has a no trade so that's that
  • @btbam666
Excellent video as always thanks for the update Patrick! Love Kaner and would love to see him stay and get 100% Healthy! Agree the team is better with him on it. Would only want to lose one of those guys if possible somehow Jeff Jackson work your magic some more please lol Would have been sweet to meet ya and Tyson at Game 6 quickly at the Molson house bar or whatever its called. Damn terrible setup prevented that from happening. Next June 2025 :)

I want Kane he’s a good player scores goals . Hits . Rather see ceci leave then kulak .

If Kane is 100% the most logical person to move to the 3rd line would be Nuge to be it's center where the Janmark/Henrique/Brown line becomes the 4th line. Nuge would get Holloway and "one other player" who would have to be a play driver (not sure if Holloway can do that to the extent needed and Nuge doesn't do that, he's utility and a facilitator, not a driver). Arvidsson plays right wing normally as does Hyman so if Connor or Leon gets Kane on the Left Skinner would go to the other person. Gives both lines a grinder (Hyman and Arvidsson) and both lines a shooter (Kane/Skinner) with two great centers (Connor/Leon). Nuge with Holloway on his left would need a play driving RW. While Levoie is a RW is he a play driver? Eventually our new addition Matt Savoie would probably slot in here quite well but he has one NHL and 6 AHL games on his resume and has played mostly in the W so he needs some experience first (don't throw another prospect to the wolves PLEASE). Just a few thoughts. Oh, paying for it, if you move Ryan/Perry you free up $2,015,000. With what we're low on that pays for both Broberg and Holloway (if $830K to each is enough) but we'd still need that RW for Nuge. If you trade Ceci (no chance for Kulak, he's GOLD come playoffs and a local boy and cheaper by 500K (and leftie)) you have to replace Ceci with a better RD. Better and cheaper rarely mix. While some may say no problem easy you're wrong. He does a lot (and yes, he messes up too but some of that is covering for Nurse). Take care all.
