August 15 2018 our New Zealand Streamliner WAIRUA ran a 458.6kph / 285 mph top speed at Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Powered by our 1990's era F1 3L V10 Judd-Yamaha, she makes an exceptional sight and sound at this amazing home of racing.
She's now in impound ready to back the record up in the morning. But this is just the start of what we hope to achieve with her this year, taking this engine to over 300mph (482kph).
Massive thanks to Sammy Harris for the clip

The car is classified as an F/FUEL Streamliner. Does it run on methanol?

Background "music" extremely annoying!

No big deal. A guy drove with 400kph on a German autobahn in his Bugatti Veyron.

What???? The government didn´t pay for a bunch of maoris to go there and do a haka and bless the salt flats before the run?
