Bro I was waiting for the rap verse and not a single part of me expected for her to pull it off that well this cover is so sick
  • There are so many comments talking about people not liking this video, but I haven't seen a comment that says anything negative about the video
  • @DapperJazz
The rapping portion gives me a scatting kinda vibe and that’s gorgeous, because it matches the later scatting that occurs—
  • @MoiraRussell
Y'all are nuts, this is a fantastic version with some incredible scatting.
  • @cherrycandygina
She nailed the lyrics, the tune, voice, pitch, and even the outfit. This is perfect.

    Jazz is my favorite genre. Gorillaz is my favorite band. Put the two together= H A P P I N E S S

I ran out of cigarettes and illegal liquor, so I can't listen to this anymore.

That moment when you’re only seeing comments talking about other comments that don’t like this video, but you don’t see any comments about not liking this video.

People are saying they can't understand her? Well some people can't understand 2D either
  • @MatterinoHS
This is actually very well done. People who don't understand the lyrics obviously don't appreciate the song enough to know them in the original. It's not Postmodern Jukebox's fault.

I'm a simple person, I see PMJ, and I feel good.

Can we just take a moment to address the perfect vintage style of the cover? It just gives the song a whole new level of beauty and her voice is ASTONISHING

This is a cover. Not only that, but its a cover purposely done in a fairly different style. I can understand what people are coming from in what they're saying about the vibrato and all that, and how its not good for Goriallz and all that, or that Robyn Adele Anderson could have done it better but heres the thing- This is a stylizied cover, in the style of Vintage Ella Fitzgerald, a singer back in 1950s-1960s, around that, but I'm not 100% sure on the exact era. I've listened to a few of her songs briefly (note how I said briefly- I havent listened to an entire album or something like that. I skipped around a few songs and listened just enough to get what her style was because I wanted to see how the singer of this cover did in replicating it.) and Thia has done a wonderful job at executing the style. From what ive heard, a lot of Ella's songs have a lot of vibrato. Thia had quite a bit of emphasis on it, yes, but it works just fine. This isnt supposed to be as trippy or eccentric as the original song, since that wouldn't genuinely go with the genre this cover is performed in. Yes, its not a match made in heaven, but they chose a different style and you can hear that its indeed a cover. And of course, you're allowed to simply not enjoy the style, that's perfectly fine. You're allowed to still completely disagree with me, I'm not gonna be a pissbaby and screech at you. Opinions are opinions, so I thought I'd share mine
  • I feel kinda bad for the drummer in these videos since most of the time he's hidden behind the singer :/
  • @MimiBrokkoli
I don't know why everyone says that they don't understand her, I understand everything perfectly fine.
  • @StelmariaonE7
This channel is like Pringles, once you pop (one video) you just can't stop.
  • @LeisureLizard
Holy shit, this was sick. 10 seconds in and I hit Like. I’m very surprised how well this song lends itself to jazz.
