RIP Freddie King (September 3, 1934 – December 28, 1976), aged 42 You will be remembered as a legend

How can you not want to be guitar player when hear this ? Such an inspirational musician .

Is it only me who thinks Freddie is perhaps the most underrated out of the 3 kings?
  • @johncollins5044
I totally agree with the latest comment, Freddie was probably the best of the three, raw and perfect, can’t get enough of that, I know he’s long gone but very much appreciated and never forgotten. JC
  • Man, this cat had it all. The total package. I only discovered him in the last five years or so, and mad at myself for not doing so earlier. You can hear about any so-called guitar hero in everything he does....only he did it first. RIP Cannonball, shame we lost you so young.

The Big Man always brings a smile to my face. Just great!

Holy crap. How I have went my whole life without ever listening to Freddie I will never know. Now I can't stop listening. The complete performer. His confidence is unbelievable

Soo many Kings But Only one Freddie!
  • @jcorpus100
Freddie was technically the best guitar player of the three Kings just in terms of his dexterity and fluidity. His masterpiece "Hideaway" contains some difficult licks that the other two would have been unable to replicate. Albert King had the tone and sustain thing down. B.B. took the T-Bone Walker's pioneering guitar work to another level and graced us with numerous timeless songs. But Freddie had the flying fingers.
  • The great Freddie King. As others have said, underrated. No one had a better voice for the blues and he's as good as any of them on the guitar. Great track.
  • @nicktulloh
Saw him in Boston a couple of weeks before he died in 1976. Words fail me. One of the absolute best. Goddamn he was good.
  • @danletras
Black suit with black guitar is beyond badass.

A serious blues powerhouse who influenced so many. His " Going Down " is one of the the most hardcore blues/rock tracks ever.

Back in the day, before I was regenerated, you could get into the clubs when you were 18. Three weeks after my 18th birthday, I took my girlfriend to a club to see a blues player named Freddie King. My first time seeing live music in a setting like that, I was up close, and Freddie was a large man, almost 6'5". He seemed larger than life and was so good at what he did. I was awed. After all these years, I still have the same girl and occasionally still sneak a listen to Freddie when no one is around. Eight months after I saw him, he died of ulcers and pancreatitis. He was only 42, but had been performing for 26 years by then, and the hard life caught up with him. This video is as I remember him. It must have been made not long before he died. Enjoy things while you can. But remember, fun stuff will soon be lost to dust and cobwebs. In a little while, no one will remember Freddie, or me, or that night. Instead of focusing on old, lost things, follow the One whose words are eternal: John 6:68.

This cut is amazing .. perfect .... tune, voice, guitar, band, expressions, rap, emotions .... this one has it all and everything is perfect ...... the drummer is killin ...... the bass is killin .... the audience is sleepin .... one of the best vids on the net.

can't believe 5 people disliked this. This guy had it all, voice, presence, chops, and he influenced so many of our guitar heroes. Very sad he left us so early.
