It's possible he's wearing those sunglasses because he wrote this song for the death of Bobby (that's what he's talking about when he sings about bobby's grace) and the death of his mother-in-law which he was apparently close to. You can imagine him being very sad, and not wanting everyone to see that he is crying. Or it's a hangover. Who knows.
