It's been a while since we've done some Iron Maiden on this channel, so it's time to bring Bruce Dickinson back for more analysis. I asked our Patrons what song should be next up, and they all voted for "Fear of the Dark." I think I'm ready for more #horsestance!

Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Iron Maiden performing "Fear of the Dark” live on the Death On The Road tour. (Yes, I know Flight 666 has better quality and energy, but the vocals are difficult to analyze. I tested a few seconds before I filmed, and we decided on this version. I review the Flight 666 version BEFORE my outro, so will still see it!)

  • I love how we’re pretty much just forcing this nice lady to listen to metal and she’s beginning to love it
  • @NPK476
I don't like to tell people that they "need" to hear or see something, but you really need to see and hear the Iron Maiden performance of "Dance of Death" from En Vivo. It's the most over the top exaggerated performance I've ever seen Bruce give.
  • @digitaIgorilla
"The audience wants to sing along to it". That's Maiden fans, we sing the whole F***ing set, including the guitar parts :D "It sounds like he's talking to a group of pre-schoolers" Yes, also us lol
  • @rickj6348
At my last Iron Maiden show, there were four generations of fans there, all of us knew all of the words and all of us sang the whole setlist. There is no band like them. UP THE IRONS!
  • The audiance immediately sings along coz the tune is imprinted on DNA of every Maiden fans including mine 😂
  • @paulmdevenney
Interviewer: So, what instrument are you opening this song with? Bruce: Crowd
  • @Touchpadse
I can hear that intro a million times and still get goose bumps every single time
  • @Sethmacd0
Bruce warms his voice up before a concert by running on a treadmill and singing at the same time. Hence why he can run around the stage while singing like he does. I was born on Maiden, a forever fan and we don't call him "The Human Air Raid Siren" for nothing lol.
  • @kosurol
So.. interview him. He's accessible and with a great sense of humor.
  • @ignasmixer
Her facial expression is like a little kid's who's done what was not allowed and got away with it! :) I love it
  • @nunuland
Brilliant! Inside every opera singer there’s a secret Maiden fan waiting to come out 😂😂
  • @brandonpew8371
As someone who's been there to see fear of the dark live nothing compares to being in the crowd singing along its a whole new world
  • @wilsoncrocker
when you go to a maiden show, you sing backup vox. thems the rules. youre actually in the band during the show. theres no audience, just backup singers.... that is all. carry on.
  • @Tsudkyk
Bruce is the best showman in music. He is constantly running around the stage, never misses a note, and has multiple outfit changes. Plus he flies the damn plane😂
  • I suffer from clinical depression. these songs that you react to (iron maiden, opeth, pantera, black sabbath etc..) were always the better part of my life, much more than a soundtrack. they are the best therapy I met. but still sometimes the lows get lower and I need a little more help. The way that you express excitement and appreciation for the music and artists is one of the only things that helps me feel when I can't feel anything. so thank you for that. a lot.
  • @Edessa_G
Great reaction, again. I grew up with Maiden. You alluded to wanting to interview Bruce. Well, you’ve interviewed Tatiana, so why not Bruce? I’m sure he’d be totally down for it. I hope you and your team are working on it. That would be truly amazing and wholeheartedly educational 👍
  • @BarbosaUral
One thing you have to remember about Iron Maiden, Elizabeth, is that they don't play TO an audience, they play WITH the audience. I don't think anyone came away from an Iron Maiden concert without a feeling they were part of the band that night in the last 35 years of playing concerts. Every member of the band is a showman.
  • The feeling when you're one of 50 000 others, singing along, you really feel like you're a part of a community. Maiden fans are among the best in the world, inclusive and awesome.
  • @denman0621
The look on her face at the first tempo change? Priceless. Makes me think she had the volume turned up to 11.
