Loved the double struck silver! The history lessons are the best ever. I really enjoy learning some type of history around the date of the coin. Keep up the great work! We appreciate you! 😊

Tangee was started in the 1920’s and is still around today. Apparently, it changes colour after application.
  • 20:32 object is a door stop. Left side receives a rubber bumper and right side screws into wall.
  • Such a WONDERFUL day of digging! Yes, loads of detritus (I do hope it is now all headed for a "planned landfill," not just tossed back into the field. It is, isn't it?), BUT... that doublestruck Jacobite coin - FABULOUS! I've never seen one so lovely - you ARE a lucky man, and I hope a "happy man," too! I do SO WISH I could fly into your beautiful "Puuurth-shurrr" to join you in the metal detecting, but, alas, whilst I CAN fly in a plane, I canna walk without severe pain. (SO VERY SAD for me. 😢 ) [PLEASE, do enjoy your D&DD (Detecting & Digging Days), and remember that you CAN do these things. Not everyone is so able, don'cha know!] Your life is full of so many "wonderful things," whether you realize it or no. Here's a wink 'n' a smile 😉 for ya, and a few (((hugs))), too, from this old California woman. I hope your numbers continue to soar, your life to bring you smiles, & all good things to come your way. Stay healthy, John; keep on having fun!

At 12:38 lead thing looks like a wheel weight that has lost its metal clip that grips the rim of a wheel to balance the rim. Probably from a truck or tractor
  • Who KNEW standing/treking thru a plowed/stubble/stoney/muddy field, neck cricked could be so much FUN!?! Oh & usually (?) COLD😬. Absolutely love your channel. Subscribed & all. Yay🎉
  • Cracking William of Orange shilling. Double strike quite sought after. Lovely example. Since the battle of the Boyne we have been knocking the bagasus out of each other ever since
  • Hello I'm in perthshire, was recommended your channel by one of my subscribers, gotta say absolutely love watching this, it's quite fascinating and also good to learn from, I half expect to see you detectoring when I drive around😊, loved the old axe you found in another video. Great stuff, cheers.

I like how you show interest and study details of everything you find, even some of the junk. You make everything more interesting, thats a good skill mate.
  • Fantastic to enjoy and experience your detecting so vicariously. Every video is a history lesson and this is what sets you apart from the rest - no wonder you've got so many subscribers. Happy hunting, and keep up the amazing work.
  • 24. 3 K !! You're doing something right buddy.! Looking forward to this. Bless up 👊
  • In coin terms that strike is known as a (D.D.O.) as double die obverse if it's the front or d d r if it's the back side the R standing for reverse . Or if the mint mark is doubled its called an r.p.m. or repunched mint mark. Quite a great find I've only saw 2 or 3 of those on YouTube being found.

Hello, I'm one of your recently added subscribers. I do a bit of research into my families ancestry. I just discovered that one of my 6x great grandfather's was imported into Yotk, Virginia as a prisoner due to his participation in the 1715 rebellion. Apparently his nickname was "The Jocobite". Oddly I'd seen this video a couple of days ago, which helped this have more meaning to me. Thank you.
  • New permission looks to have a lot of potential, nice silver. Thanks for you know what.😀
  • Beautiful coin when a coin is holed was to be sewn into a coat so it doesn't get lost
  • Great day mate! Lovely silver😊 FINALLY managed to order a pointy, sticky, thingy!😊 thanks Les
