Akimoto takes on ONE Bantamweight kickboxing World Champion Capitan Petchyindee for the gold at ONE X on 26 March! Who you got? 🔥
  • Love seeing Kyokushin gettin some representation! Most don't know the early influence it had on the kickboxing world.

Akimoto's cardio is too good, those damn muscles, dude looks like he's straight out of some Japanese animes.
  • @MoanaHawaiiLani
Akimoto is great, but you have to admire Tonna's fighting spirit. Only so much punishment someone can take, but it looked like he was fighting through some major pain.
  • @HuanLinParkour
That was a sick fight. I hope they have more Kyokushin fighters here since Kyokushin don't really get enough publicity.

When you take a Kyokushin fighter and put him in a fight with head strikes he is basically a kickboxer. Seido Kaikan comes from Kyokushin and K1 comes from Seido Kaikan.

Wow what amazing heart from Josh Tonna .. kept going after Akimoto the whole time even after after being knocked down so many times. Both great fighters.

Ya know even though Josh Tonna lost what the announcer says was right. He took all the and still kept moving forward. That in and of itself is impressive. You can’t deny guy’s a beast
  • @kinajardine9009
respect for Josh who never gave up until the final bell. A lot of other fighters would have just stayed down and quit, but he believed he could knock Hiroki out with one punch.

Japanese guy is so composed...build out of granite...slippery...killer kicks...great combos! Looking real good!
  • @StrainXv
Akimoto, the first time I saw him fight, has been a favorite of mine, his Karate kick arsenal is so good.
  • @eviljack
Respect to Josh. That dude his heart. Akimoto is a badass.
  • @wdiddy1
Akimoto is in too good of shape and fights so relaxed which is a sign of someone that has fought a lot! GSP was also trained in Kyokushin which many consider the best karate style.
  • The absolute raw fighting spirit displayed in this match is incredible.
  • @fruitpowa9954
This match remained me the golden era of Japanese K1 matches with Buakaw, Sato and others great fighters.
  • @driver3899
that Josh Tonna guy could have quit so many times but he just kept going thats true fighting spirit right there
  • Kyokushin is hard core stand up striking. A good portion of K1 heavyweights practised it
  • @playmaker3901
Akimoto looks so jacked but ripped for a flyweight. Pure lean muscle…
