In this video we start a fire using the Hand Drill Friction Fire Method. This is a great bushcraft survival skill to know how to do. This is part of a fire making series I am doing which includes videos on: Friction fire - Bow Drill Fire, Fire Plow, Fire Thong, Fire Piston, and more.

Really enjoying these "back to nature" survival videos you've been producing. All the different types of ways to start fires you are able to replicate with ease are fascinating. Would love to see some efficient makeshift traps for catching rodents/small game. Might bring some original viewership back as well! Thanks for making awesome content!!

Making fire. That smile on Shawn's face looks like a little kid, proud of something, and something could be good or bad for the parents. Lol

This method is definitely hard. I did it with a power drill and some very dry pine, and it worked easily, but the amount of energy required from the drill showed me how difficult it would be for me to do it in real life. The pressure and speed is real key.

This is always how Primitive Technology starts his fires and he makes it look so easy πŸ˜‚
  • Do make some more videos on fire starting methods. I want to be able to do that, so TY Shawn. Keep up the survival videos.

    Very impressive! Well done.

Insane way to do it , I've never managed to get a fire going without resorting to making a bow.

I love it. Of all the hand drill videos I've seen, the instant the flames begin, EVERY SINGLE person's face is also aglow with satisfaction and happiness. 100% of the time. Humans have that primitive, built-in connection with πŸ”₯ Thank you for the demo πŸ‘πŸ”₯❀️
