There was a lot of rare interviews and videos I had to dig through on the internet but I credited what I can remember.

Honourable mentions for the doc.

They were first called The MegaDeth.

The name is derived from the given names of two blues musicians whose Piedmont blues records Barrett had in his collection, Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.

Arnold Layne was banned from BBC

Gear was stolen on ummagumma tour including David’s first White Telecaster

Syd Barrett’s overdose

Syd Barrett’s solo albums

A momentary lapse of reason, the division bell and the endless river.

  • It has been 2 years since I released this film I made… I truly made this out of pure love for the band and nothing else, the feedback I’ve gotten from everyone even to this day astounds me and I’m extremely grateful, 1 million of you took time to look at something I made out of love and I’ll forever be grateful for all of you for that, and I’ll forever be grateful for pink floyd for allowing this to stay up… it really means a lot to me as a lifelong fan, and I cherish every moment of it. A couple of things I want to mention is I know there are a couple audio glitches here and there, and I got a fact or two wrong, but again as I mentioned doing it out of love, I didn’t expect it to be perfect, if I could go back and change everything and do it the right way I absolutely would… but because of the view count I’ll allow it to stay and do better for future projects… again thank you all. You are the reason I do what I do.

The Pompeii stuff still blows my mind. I mean I keep imagining that you are there as a tourist. You are off in the distance, and you hear a strange sound, climb over the hill top and see this spectacle...

I've loved the Floyd since I can remember. I am 63 years old and I have been playing guitar for 54 years. I'm from Croatia, ex-Yugoslavia from Zadar on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. I was at the Floyd concert at the Olympiahalle in Munich on the Animals tour. An unforgettable concert. During the war in Croatia, I was a volunteer in 91-95 and my fellow soldiers arranged for me to go to Italy for the PULSE concert, but I refused at the last minute. I was ashamed to go and leave my comrades. But I watched the concert in London twice on TV. The best band in the world.

  • it's just mind boggling that they were so creative and prolific in their first 10 years...'67-'77...

I was going to fail senior year of high school by one test. My teacher have me the opportunity to do a report on anything and if it was good enough they would let me pass. But I hated this teacher and she hated me, so I decided to fail senior year by doing a report on Pink Floyd. Long story short, I passed. I suspect if youtube or this documentary existed at the time I would have never been given the chance to save myself. A massive life lesson was learned and Pink Floyd was the vehicle and soundtrack to that time. Such a dynamic band and such dynamic lyrics. They change meaning as my life and perspective changes. Pink Floyd was special.
  • I’ve known my Pink Floyd lore since I was a teenager and your use of footage, song choice and so on made it feel like I was learning something new over again. Hats off to you. Seriously.

My first thought was "I've probably seen most of stuff anyway" but had a look and was interested throughout the docu. A very good film and of course a big homage to Syd Barrett, as catalyst of something that'll be remembered for ever. The title is so apt as that is where we are right now with lockdown in the uk till beginning of december, we're all skating on thin ice, great we can still hear any music we want to until we can't, A great band who I saw live in the late sixties and went on a call out to the Busy Bee on the M1 to rescue their ford transit, with the gong on the back, on its way to Luton for a gig, subsequentially cancelled,we towed them back to London where they had a gig in hyde park the next day. That's another story
  • The positive feedback truly is amazing thank you all, I just want to say although this isn’t an official release and is a fan made documentary, you all make it feel as though it very well could be. Many blessings and more content to come in the future. ❤️ all credits to those involved and big thanks to everyone who circulated the footage through the interwebs for the last 20+ years. If It wasn’t for you none of this would exist for us to see. I always watched old documentaries and found it was lacking many parts of the story. I always just wanted to compile everything and make it easy for a first time pink floyd listener to understand. Also big thanks to pink floyd for allowing this to stay up. Your music is truly a blessing to us all.
  • @obbor4
The amazing thing, like the case is with Fleetwood Mac and Peter Green, is that Syd gave the band it's birth and his influence guided them throughout the rest of their careers. A testament to both himself and the friends who have never let his memory be forgotten.
  • @Geezer-yf8hv
Roger describing Syd’s song “Bike” rather sums up the love and fascination of Barrett’s work. He was truly the launching pad!!! The other guys would have never been able continue without the early success and recognition they got from Syd! Still, they went on as Pink Floyd without him. (You listening, Roger)? They were a totally different band without him, ( and I AM GLAD they went on and became the New Pink Floyd)!! NOBODY could have predicted they would go on to create the most timeless, enduring music EVER recorded!!!! NOBODY, NEVER, could envision the future popularity of the early Pink Floyd!!
  • @Bidenisgone
I'm 55, and a HUGE Floyd fan. I never had the opportunity to see them before Roger left. I have seen Floyd, many, many times since. Also, I've seen Roger Waters just as many times. I've watched dozens of Floyd documentaries, but this is, BY FAR, the best. Thank you very much...
  • @josephkerr644
As a lifetime Pink Floyd fan I found this documentary to be very unique. Excellent job.
  • @Sekhmet6697
Wow this is actually one of (if not THE) best floyd documentary I’ve seen... It’s very interesting how it mixes audio and visuals in a different more original way, even though it’s material that many of us have already seen. Must have been a lot of work, hope it doesn’t get taken down!
  • @reekashade
Pipers at the gate of dawn was my favorite album..I was about 12 yrs old.I still look back with fond memories tripping to the scarecrow song.
  • @joshua969
First documentary that gave more than a passing mention to the period from More to Meddle. Great work !
  • @floydloonie4880
FINALLY, A Pink Floyd documentary with some new content!! Not just the same stuff in a slightly new order! Thank you for doing a little more research into the bands' history. and coming up with some tracks of music that have not been used over and over for previous "documentaries."
  • Greg allman "listening to pink Floyd is better then going to Disneyland". I will gladly second this notion. Awesome job with the doc. One of the best independent fan docs I've seen, bar none. Thank you.
  • Pink Floyd is my favorite band ever. Something about the music and individual members and Syd's mental callapse. They deeply touch me. Just seeing a tribute band brought me to tears
