oops! I was supposed to release a video before this one! I will put that one up tomorrow! If I take this down and put it up again YouTube will not notify anyone so it has to stay haha

Our old garage had a sticker that just said; "keep it easy for 100km" that he would give to people after replacing their tyres with the mention to stick in on your dash or tank. It works for some of the newer riders ;)

6:11 Playing the song of YouTube back in the early 2000s 😂 Every compilation video had that song

The XJS sounds & goes amazing. I can never get used to a 4 cylinder. In all my years, I’ve never actually had one. I rode a screamer 400 some time ago & I felt I was wringing its neck, but going nowhere.

New clutch plates are an underrated 'mod'! 😊
  • One of your best videos I think :) I have that same model and same Black Widow exhaust as you. I cant believe yours has done 60k miles and it sounds like new. Mine has 14k miles and I thought that was getting on a bit. I often think of changing my XJ6 but cant think of anything that would be as easy to ride and still have plenty of power. Amazing machines!!

2:56 I'm up and down that road all the time, surprised i've never seen you, at least the weather means we (bikers) can ride now without getting drenched

Imagine the following delivered with a nasal voice from one in an anorak. 😂 Tyre compound (for road use at least) has a significant proportion of fine silica sand in the mix. When you are running in tyres, you need to gently wear away the surface rubber compound leaving a surface peppered with hard wearing and grippy silica sand granules (imagine sandpaper). This will give you the holy grail of tyre performance in peak grip and longevity from your tyre. Every time you break traction you strip that carefully prepared silica surface and have to repeat the the whole process (think worn out sandpaper). A bike tyre has the added complication that the majority of the time you’re only using the centre strip and so you must gently feed in the “chicken strips” to the same process. I am told that slippery mould release fluid from manufacturing is no longer an issue. After all that, I need to have a big swig from my bottle of weak lemon squash. Incidentally for £10 I will give talks at parties and bar mitzvah’s and for £20 I will stay away. 😂

How do you rate shops with motorcycle gear in the UK? Infinity Motorcycles, Sportbikeshop, J&S - all are good? Thanks
