Status Quo - Don't Waste My Time/Apollo Glasgow 1976

The old Quo-favorite that has turned many venues upside down. Audio is from the Live! album, the footage is from different gigs in the seventies.

One of the best, incredibly underrated, rock and roll band of all the times. Cheers to them, from Argentina

Easily and by far the best ever Live album released by a rock band. No match. The magic the Frantic Four delivered on stage. Top notch. You will never see a band ilke this again. John's sick groove drumming, the pounding bass of Alan and the best rhythm guitarist ever Mr Rick Parfitt. Thanks guys.
  • The real fucking deal right there. Nothing will ever comes close. Most excellent in every way....
  • Think I wore my Live at the Apollo LP out with in a year! Yeah, absolutely brilliant live album. Must have seen them 30 times live since 1975. RIP Rick & Alan, much missed.

What a great thrill it was to see the quo for the first time here at the Apollo..1976 but it feels like only yesterday..4 of us travelled up from Cumbria in a battered up old transit..happy days indeed

My friend who used to live in England for 7 years told me once (1978) that the best shows he had seen were those of SLADE and OUO...

Geez I remember the way the balcony used to bounce up and down with all the head banging to these boys at the Apollo. How It stayed up was a bloody miracle!

Makes you wonder how Rossi could drive a Band like this off the road into a ditch. The next two years were the lightweight Disco albums, RAOTWorld and IYCSTHeat, then 3 of their best albums in 79,80 and 81, then a couple of good tracks each on 1982 and Back to Back. Spud left, then Nuff left after a very timid LIVE AID performance. QUO were diluted and well, not QUO anymore. It wasn't until 1991 that we heard some quality music from Francis and Rick. Ironically, Rock 'til You Drop was Produced by Francis. Rock 'til You Drop is a true masterpiece. The version of 4500 Times, is very meaty and beefy, the comedy at the beginning of the track makes it sound like it was recorded LIVE. Since the demise of THE FRANTIC FOUR in the early 80's, the Band only known as STATUS QUO have produced a few really good Rock albums. HEAVY TRAFFIC, IN SEARCH of THE 4TH CHORD, QUID PRO QUO and BULA QUO ( ROCK TRACKS ) Covers albums RIFFS & FAMOUS IN THE LAST CENTURY were quality albums, DON'T STOP was not a quality album, except for JOHNNY & MARY. Rossi's selfish cocaine driven indulgence destroyed our QUO. I was very fortunate to see Alan & John play together at a couple of gigs in Sydney in 1988. They played with legendary Australian musicians in Hard Rockin' Pub Bands. Luckily, I saw THE FRANTIC FOUR in June 1978 at The Hordern Pavilion, Sydney. 19 years later, Francis, Rick, Andy, Rhino and Jeff played 2 nights at The Enmore Theatre, Sydney. They were brilliant, fantastic and bloody awesome. It was great to see Francis and Rick again, so it was an extremely emotional experience. I saw them on every tour up until their 'last night of the electrics' in 2017, which sounded like a cabaret show unfortunately. Ever since Matt Letley left the Band, the quality has diminished drastically. The only good aspect of the Band name being in existence is the joy it brings to people that go to the Cabaret shows. Plus, I'm happy for the Band members, even the grumpy guy called Rossi. RIP Reg and Nuff.

R.I.P. Rick Parfitt - You Will Be Missed. The best rhythm guitarist ever.
  • Best song Quo has ever done, I can relate a little to these lyrics. This is real rock.
  • @quodog1
The boys should employ you to create a whole 'gig' like this. Brilliantly well done !
