The Three Degrees is an American female vocal group, which was originally formed in 1965 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The original members were Fayette Pinkney, Shirley Porter and Linda Turner. Porter and Turner were soon replaced by Janet Harmon and Helen Scott. The line-up from 1967 to 1976 was Pinkney, Valerie Holiday and Sheila Ferguson, who would go on to sing lead on most of the group's biggest hits.
They visited the Toppop studios many times. This was broadcast on 17 June 1974 on the TopPop program.

TopPop was the first regular dedicated pop music TV show in the Dutch language area. Dutch broadcaster AVRO aired the programme weekly, from 1970 to 1988. Presenter Ad Visser hosted the show for its first fifteen years.
World famous music artists performed on TopPop: ABBA, 10CC, Bee Gees, The Jacksons, David Bowie, Earth & Fire, Boney M, Smokie, KC & The Sunshine Band, Chic, Donna Summer, Rod Stewart, and many many more.

  • My dad has dementia and Alzheimers ….. This song was his favourite in the 70’s!! He loved it so much he accidentally bought it twice. Probably why it went to No.1…. Every time I hear it, it makes me sad, as he’s not that strong dad that I always looked up to. He’s still alive. And when I play this (or any Bobby Darin song) his toes tap!!! It’s the power of music ❤❤❤❤❤ 🎶
