I’ve made a Twitter account (GeorgeOfHam) to hop on the Elon Muskwagon. I’ll probably use it till YouTube gives me access to Community posting.

This is based on the ending scene of season 1, episode 8 of True Detective. The music is track 4, “True Detective,” of the season 1 score (   • True Detective - Season 1 Soundtrack ...  ). It’s only been published on vinyl, apparently.

    I just realized why this scene is so creepy: it references that old Sesame Street book called The Monster at the End of This Book, which, despite being a picture book for young children, is a masterclass in building suspense and has fundamentally instilled the concepts of dread and jumpscares in millions of children since it came out in 1971. Viewers of this series instinctively respond with the same fear they had with that book, even if they don’t quite remember reading or being read it as small children.
