Fun Fact: The artist who did the promo and character art is Hiromu Arakawa, who later created Fullmetal Alchemist.
-
Ehrgiez is a game I’ll never forget!
-
Bro the dungeon crawling half of this game is part of my childhood
-
Ergheiz wasn't a FF7 fighting game per se but rather it had FF7 characters as guests. BTW I still remember the arcade game that got limited release.
-
Lets just take a moment to appreciate when fighting games ADDED features unlike todays that barely ship with core mechanics....
-
My mother loved this game, but only the quest mode. Lost count of how many times she played through it, lol
-
This takes me back to when Cloud was announced for Smash, which took me back to when I first encountered and played Ehrgeiz. God bless the ring. The circle of nostalgia is complete.
-
One of my friends always called it "Energize" no matter how many times we corrected him
-
I had this game, and man what a hidden gem. It's absolute late 90s PS1 jank and I loved every minute of it. That insanely loud menu....dear god, you had to mute the volume every time or it would crack the windows in your house
-
I love Ehrgeiz. It's a fun game to play/watch when people actually know what they're doing. Some of the controls can be confusing since there's a lot of different button combinations, but remapping the buttons helps with that. Also, I do not suggest playing with analog mode because for some reason that actually removes mobility options and access to other attacks. It would be really nice to at least get a port, but a remaster of this, Tobal, and Bushido Blade would be cool.
-
Ehrgeiz wasn't really a final fantasy fighter. It was a fighting game that had unlockable guest characters from FFVII, pretty much. Other than that, it was its own thing.
-
This game has one of the best intros ever seen on a PS1 game, definitely one of my favorites!
-
Zack Was My Main,Sigh Good Times.
-
Greets from Germany. Ehrgeiz is a German word and it's correct pronunciation is "Air-Gaitz" 🇩🇪✌️ Great video as usual!
-
Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring. That game had a simplistic mystery dungeon mode, and the only way to truly beat the final boss was to throw barrels at it during the credits.
-
Love when you get into obscure fighters that you haven’t covered. Star Wars: Masters of Teräs Käsi next?
-
My brother and I loved playing through the dungeon quest mode as well. Very good times.
-
I always wondered if Ken Mishima was related to Heihachi and Kazuya Mishima, especially when I saw the demon screw uppercut.
-
I rented this several times and fell in love with it. Simplistic gameplay, but interesting characters. It tried to be "Tekken for the rest of us" with some FFVII collab'd-in. My friend and I fired it up on an emulator not long ago, and I think we had more fun with it than we did as kids.
