S.O.S (Part Three) Escape- A Halo Mega Construx/Mega Bloks Stop Motion Animation Short Film

Published 2021-08-27
Story: (**Spoilers**)
In a small UNSC outpost on a desolate planet called Cygnus X-1 a group of 3 marines were returning from a patrol in the dark forest when they saw a bright flash indicating a flare has been set off in the distance. The marines took charge and found the flare along with some marines fighting back the covenant. As the group of now 5 marines escaped in their warthog they stop at a crashed ONI/UNSC frigate in need of shelter and supplies. While exploring the ship they found the flood. The flood is an ancient parasitic form that is powerful enough to take over and destory entire civilizations. They hastly escape having lost one marine in the firefight to another facility with a plan. The marines decided that they should mount a distress beacon on the UNSC frigate to attract the covenant in order to secure a phantom. They then returned from the second facility with charges and more ammunition and prepared by setting up the charges inside and outside the building. The covenant then arrived and found the flood. A very large battle erupted between the flood, covenant and the marines. Amongst this chaos the marines infiltrated a covenant phantom and escaped looking to go to the closest planet, Reach. Reach has sufficent UNSC forces as it was a large target for the covenant.

My Thoughts/Recap
S.O.S started out as a simple Idea I had for a short film and it progressed into my longest video and into my first film series. S.O.S part one showed the world of Cygnus-X1 and built some story and gave the series a path. S.O.S part two was meant to expand on the world building and story while having some action and charater development. S.O.S part three is meant to be the action packed climax of the series. I really learned alot throught making these animations like, footage to audio timing (voice acting), large scale sets, visual storytelling, scripting, editing and much much more and I'm so happy that I learned alot along the way. I'd just like to thank all of you so much for all the kind words, constructive crtisim and for all the support over the course of this series and my youtube channel. I'm going to remaster this by putting all the clips together and fixing some audio issues and by adding visual polish to it so look forward to that.
Thanks

  • Hi I just want to say thank you for all the support and help I’ve gotten through this series. I’ve worked really hard on this and I hope you all enjoyed it. There were some audio issues but that’s due to my computer crashing, buffering, glitching, and displacing the time line (I’d click on one area of the footage and it would show a whole other part) making it really hard to edit. Thanks
  • This was amazing. The action, story, and everything were fantastic. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to your future animations

Excellent job man! The voice acting was great, the green screen effects were awesome, I especially loved two things; The way you did the battle cruisers and the phantom was amazing. And the battle effects were very realistic; the way the battle raged on around the two talking elites was really cool too. Overall a true work of art. I wish I could have been able to watch this sooner. Keep up the good work bro!

Ayo you made this into a move damn this is 🔥
  • This is amazing. From the vfx to the sfx to the literal quality of animation. I loved it. EVERY SECOND OF IT. The video was a long length, which made it feel more like a movie. I loved that aspect of it. Overall I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series.
  • that was overall an amazing video! the only nitpick I have is remember they only salute with their right hand. other than that very small detail, I think it was perfect (after having watched it a few times)

Great work my friend! A perfect ending to an amazing series, I loved it! I look forward to see what you come up with next 😎👍 P.s. sorry this is late 😆
  • Love this episode and I subbed to you since you are good at animating mega blocks figures and lots of hard work put into it and you are an inspiration to me

Ok so, at the star it did get rid of a few problems me and some others had about part 2 and 1. My main issue now, is probably with the arm movements while talking. Some are extremely fast, especially in the first part of a film. Usually movements while talking should be a bit slower, and more deliberate. I’d recommend to not use easing in and out for ark movements while characters y’all. The first fight scene is also way to fast, and extremely hard for me to understand what’s going on. Overall you had a good use of impact, but I really think the fight scene could’ve benefited from holding on certain parts longer.
