Pastil originated from the Maguindanao people in the Philippines. Pastil is a packed rice dish in banana leaves which is consist of steamed rice and shredded beef or chicken. It is a famous food in Mindanao among our Muslim brothers. As of now, it is sold in Quiapo area at a very low price.

Chicken Pastil

Boil:
800g chicken breast
water
1 tsp salt
1 thumb size ginger
2 cloves garlic

Saute:
Annatto oil(cooking oil + atsuete seeds) or you can use Atsuete powder
1 head garlic,minced
2 onion,minced
ground black pepper
3 tbsp soy sauce(or you can add according to your preference of saltiness)
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp butter or margarine
red chilis(optional,if you want hot and spicy)
