So, to answer your question, I think a lot of it comes down to priorities, and I certainly can't speak for all white people, but in my family, it was mortgage first, bill's second, insurance third, groceries forth, household needs, & if we were lucky enough, to have any left over, we might get a new outfit, or pair of shoes 😊 At any given time, we were lucky to have 5 full outfits, that we would mix and match, so it appeared we had more clothes.....so as long as we had clothes, and they were clean & presentable, we wore them 😊
