Guys, can we talk about the story behind this song ? A congolese* singer known as Gims (or Maitre Gims) was working on a new album in 2014-2015. He was looking for a new melody and started singing some “Ayayayaye”s. All the staff was like “it sounds like Sia’s stuff” and he sent it to her. The next day, Sia got the instrumental, went to the studio and sang her “Ayayayayes”. And so the chorus of “Je te pardonne” by Gims ft Sia (it means "I forgive you" in French) was born. Sia asked for keeping the rights on the song to make her own version for a new album. In 2024, 9 years after, Sia released her version “I forgive you”
