In this video I fix my broken Framing Nail Gun. This nailer is made by Bostitch. F28WW N88WWB. The rebuild kit is N890RK. I've had this pneumatic nail gun for seven years with no issues up to this point. I built my house and garage with it.

If you have a similar problem, try taking it apart, cleaning it, and re-greasing it before buying the O-Ring Kit. My O-rings still looked OK as I took them out.

Those O rings simply wear out over time and air escapes past them not allowing the gun to function. You may want to watch this video again and at the beginning you guns just falls apart in your hand and most O rings come off easily. Upon assembly things are much tighter as you struggle a bit to close it up; especially the last part as you install the end cap. Typically the wear items are the middle rings that are constantly being used as the gun operates... Cheers....
  • Thanks David. 3 years later trolling for a video to fix my Bostitch all I had to do was look at someone I was already subscribed to.
  • Exactly what I needed (I hope). Looking for the kit now. Mine still "works" ... but it is probably batting about .333 (ie: 1 out of 3 times it actually fires the nail). I get slightly better results when I continuously pull the nail rack spring back and let it hit the nails again. I'm open to trying this kit as it is about 9 or 10 years old now ... and hopefully a parts refresh will help.

My N88WWB misfired and the problem was the 4 allen bolts at the bottom of the cylinder. They loosened up and part of the bottom o-ring blew out of it's kerf. All the o-rings in the top section were still fine.
  • Mine when it failed just needed to be taken apart cleaned and oiled then put back together.

Would be helpful to clearly display the part going back in so the viewer does not make the mistake of replacing backwards ...... otherwise nice job .... thanks

Hello there everyone I have a Bostitch N66c siding Nail gun there is no leaking air but once I put air it only works the first time, I notice that only when I press the trigger valve it does have an air leak on the trigger, so I order the kit trigger valve and still didn't work, so I order the whole o ring kit and the same thing not working. I actually don't know what else to look for. any help on this. thank you
  • In the first part, when I stop you from working, you see that they are in a cold place and outside. These guns do not work at low temperatures, since the back part is controlled. When you tried it you worked it in a garage with the hose a hotter air, I say it from experience I have worked for 4 years with this type of guns greetings. at first it is not necessary to change all the packaging as they do not have much wear, second when this happens and a special oil for low temperatures which makes the oil does not stick in the back, I will happen to spend with guns new but it was for the same the low temperature, I had to go sometimes to the car to warm it a little ✌from yakima wa i make bins for apples

That short clip at the beginning sounds exactly like my problem. Did you feel air escaping around the trigger? I feel some around mine and already tried 3 new trigger valves all made no difference. I'm thinking it could be some other o-ring..... Thanks

Apparently, a lot of bostich framing nailers do this. I thought mine was freezing up, because it started doing it only when it was below freezing. It gradually got worse where it wouldn't work unless it was 60 or above. Lazy bum.
  • Thanks for the video. Just cracked mine open and about a half table spoon of oil spilled out. Anyone else have that happen?

My Bostich Framing nail gun stopped working, the piston doesn't retract. So, I purchased a rebuild kit and rebuilt the nail gun, and still does not retract the piston. What did I do wrong? ?
