Today we're in the ancient capital of Japan : Kyoto!! Known for it's beautiful temples, we're here to deep dive into Kyoto's food scene. Starting thing's off at Kyoto's Kitchen : the Nishiki Market. Over 1000 year's old, Nishiki Market is the one-stop-shop for all your Japanese street food needs in Kyoto.

After our tour of the famous market we take you to the stunningly beautiful Ryoan-ji Temple. Even more stunning to visit during fall! Located within the grounds of Ryoan-ji is a similarly picturesque Buddhist vegetarian restaurant specializing in tofu hotpot.

Any food lover's trip to Kyoto is not complete without sampling the iconic Kaiseki. A seasonal menu selected by the chef featuring high end ingredients. We sat down at the 1 Michelin star Kinobu restaurant in the heart of Kyoto for a multi-course experience!

many new YouTubers doing Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto content especially “post” covid travel….. watching repetitive content takes away that ‘Japan Magical feeling’….i go Japan every year since 2010 except during their lockdowns.. was there earlier this year when they reopened but just didn’t feel as special anymore… heck even Ichiran taste average now As travel content creator perhaps this channel needs to follow the Legend Weins and do more on the unbeaten path to keep it fresh

At the temple floor dining experience I laughed so hard at the leg amputation comment! 🤣 21:31

In the 80's, my mother and I spent a month traveling through Hong Kong, China and Japan. I was in culinary heaven. My elderly mom found that most dishes had a spice, or something that she just didn't like. The tour guides would gather near our table so that they could "help" her finish her meals. Despite this, we had a wonderful time.
