Watching this reinforces my long held belief that Slade have not been revered as high as they should be. They were a truly great rock n roll band! They did not and do not have to be cool because the songs are so good.

I'm sat here crying, that what Slade meant to me when I was 12-15 years old in the grim rain of Northern England, Slade were the greatest . I loved this, thank you

Fantastic, stomping, fun music from a group who never took themselves seriously and a lead singer who such a unique, powerful voice. Thank you Slade. Fantastic yesterday, today and forever.

Underrated (probably disrespected) band, one of the best vocalists ever also

Greatest comeback in rock history was Don Powell's recovery from that horrific car accident. His drumming was still awesome afterwards! SLADE rulz!

Slade Alive was one of the albums I never stopped playing.... they were just amazing as a live band, and shaped so much of the 70's...
  • Noddy one of the best vocalists ever, Slade are so underrated I miss them days it was fun .

My youngest Sister was born profoundly Austic& disabled..Well i think it was the late 1970's & the SLADE boys played at her school ( if u could call it that, more like day Warehousing!)And i thought that a fantastic gesture! They were ragi g busy&took some time out& that was immense for many of these severely mentally challenged people!
  • "Buy me a rocking chair, to watch the world go by Buy me a looking-glass to look me in the eye..." I grew up in the American south in the 80s and had never heard of Slade, so my first hearing was in a shopping mall in 2009, visiting my then-new (now-ex) husband's family for Christmas in Scotland. The marriage ended but Slade's appeal obviously has not. I'd love to hear a recording of the initial version of this track--the lyrics are pulling me into a late 60's George Harrison or Eric Clapton/Cream vibe... It sounds magically playful and curious.

I've seen so many bands in my life, but Slade will always be up there as a brilliant live band.....they rocked like bastards....and so loud.....Top band.

Saw them live at Empire pool Wembley in 1972, fantastic night, hitch hiked there and back from Lancashire aged 15.
