Thanks for the reply! Looks like the chinese light bar itself is high quality BUT the Engo light mount was creeking huh? Did this occur over trails?

What brand cree lights did you get and what mount are you using?
  • @DartyFL
Most of the LED lights we see in the US are Chinese knock offs of the original Rigid Industries CREE LED light systems. However, they are very high quality and just as bright as the original. Seward (sewardoffroad . c0m) has great deals on their lights. I went with the Engo light bar and hate it. It creaks when the body rolls, due to its engineering flaws. I just pulled the trigger on the Poison Spyder mount for my Jeep JK.

Is the light bar pretty easy to install?

It really depends on your skill level.  It requires basic knowledge of your vehicle's electrical system and access through your firewall to install and mount your switch.  Running the wires and mounting the lights themselves can take some time but it isn't really a difficult job.   I currently have the same 50" light bar, a 20" on the front bumper, two 2" spots on the A pillar, two 3" floods on the rear and two 4" round reverse lights in the bumper.  All are CREE LEDs.  It takes time and planning to layout the wiring diagram for something like that.  Otherwise you will have a big rat nest of wires every where. Make sure your light kit comes with a wiring harness.  If not, there are companies that make them specifically for this application. Not sure if the image links below will work: Front:  lh4.googleusercontent.com/-NRgDxsh26XI/VNEnsX2NVDI… Rear:  lh4.googleusercontent.com/-OK5rITTm-BM/VOI33WLt_YI… Hope that answers your question.

The Chinese version is very high quality. Same CREE technology used here in the States. The reflectors are a complete ripoff The Engo, unlike other mounting options, is a three piece design. Two A-pillar mounts and a cross member at the top. The top lays directly on top of the two A-pillar mounts and bolts on. With the enormous weight of the 50" light, this causes the heavy mil, textured, powder coating to rub (and creak) even when simply turning a corner. Nylon washers would work...but..
