Across social media, some people are throwing out their non-stick cookware, worried it will give them what's some are calling the Teflon flu. America's Poison Centers says there's been a spike in cases with 267 reports of Teflon flu just last year. Experts say Teflon flu is transmitted when you scrape the bottom of non-stick cookware, which releases potentially harmful chemicals that are inhaled into the body. Premier Food Safety CEO Donny Yoo showed Inside Edition's Victoria Recano how to cook safely with Teflon coated pans.

You should watch the movie "Dark Waters" it's from 2019 and is based on the true story of how Teflon was implemented into EVERYTHING, by huge companies - and how one big lawyer firm decided to go against them. It's such a good big hollywood production.

Those of us who have pet birds have known for years not to use Teflon. When heated to a high temperature they can cause toxins fatal to birds.

I'm as cautious about chemicals and junk as the next guy, and teflon is probably making some people sick, but "I was sick for two weeks and then I got better" doesn't really convince me that it's because of the teflon. That's the approximate lifespan of tons of cold and flu bugs lol

I threw away all teflon 35 years ago. Aluminum too. Stainless steel or cast iron only.
  • We've known about this for at least a decade but Teflon is still sold in the US.
  • 1:10 gotta love how she is using the most blatant green screen possible Although tbh, if my house was messy I wouldn't want that on air either

I swear people in this country not only do not know history, they don’t even know what happened 20 years ago.

  • There was a movie called Dark Water that talks about this staring Mark Ruffalo and Anne Hathaway
  • @Eberandrew
If only I could get my roommates to stop using metal spatulas in our pans 😂
  • History on Teflon and politics is wild. Crazy that this has been allowed on the market without any eyebrow raised

Here’s some advice. Don’t use Teflon pans. Use cast-iron pans.
