Former prosecutor Lucy Lang is back to take a look at more courtroom scenes from television shows and movies and breaks down how accurate they are. Can you actually "throw the book" at a witness?

Editor’s note: an earlier version of this episode included a clip from an unofficial Rick and Morty video and was published inadvertently. WIRED regrets the error.
Lucy Lang is the executive director at the Institute For Innovation In Prosecution at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

"The actor playing the lawyer is actual my dad." what a twist
  • @MooshiGamer
XD She was like mildly embarrassed when her dad popped up lolz, that was such a cute reaction

Ms Lang has this " I'm in court" face when she looks at all of the serious court scenes, except the one where her dad is. In that you can see she's smiling ever so slightly.
  • Is anyone else upset she didn't get to see the Bee movie court room scene.
  • @NinhLyUK
I like the fact that she gives her verdict on her own father's performance at 8:07 ! 😂
  • @aubs6262
Her reaction to her dad was so cute
  • @KimberlyGreen
Ms Lang, please do many more of these. Your insights are fascinating and educational. (And your style is killer too!)

I love how she dissected the chewbacca defense as if it were serious.
  • @ayar3195
Wow the fact that her father was in one of the clips.

7:49 LMAO I was wondering why she reacted like that. Kinda of a nice not embarrassing moment for her but a surprise welcome for sure
  • @yeamea2007
By instinct I was expecting her to say "Hey Legal Eagles, welcome back to the channel"

Next up on Technique Critique: "Serial Killer reviews murder scenes."

It was one thing for her dad to be some obscure actor, it's another that he's actually quite a prominent one. I'd be curious to get her reaction to his role in Don't Breathe 😂
  • @greatwesternsky
I absolutely love how she treats every scene with equal seriousness... she reacts to the silly South Park with a straight, analytical response whilst also giving us relevant information.
  • @nightnaughty
Please do more videos with Miss Lang, she is very interesting, clear when explaining a concept and educational to watch, an applause well deserved 👏👏👏

‘If chewbaca lives in Endor you must acquit’ 😂😂
