  • Corrections/clarifications: 02:33 This should say: “parts of the ride were nearly half a century old”, not the ride in its entirety. See 09:15 for clarification – it was later discovered that the owner had “bought a replacement which was more than 50 years old.” (Evening Standard, 26/02/73).

There is something particularly tragic about someone surviving the crash, but falling to their death moments after
  • @dw2971
The fact that people went back to enjoying their day at the park during this tragedy is chilling.
  • Please post more. This is some of the best content and best narration ive listen to in a while. This channel is severely under rated. it will be big one day.
  • @tryancompasme

I just found you today and am so sad to see there’s only 6 videos for me to binge watch. Your quality is amazing and I can tell you sincerely resonate emotionally with these stories. Please keep it up. We need people like you to tell these types of stories.
  • It’s despicable how they were acquitted of the charges. Poor children, may they rest in peace. The fact that the ride had so many defects and the park continued as per normal afterwards??!? is so tragic. Gosh poor angels
  • @Butlerboy
This channel would 100% become big and successful if you keep grinding, it's so professional and well narrated
  • @gregoryent
I got so sad when I only saw 3 videos on this channel. I would watch documentaries like this for hours if you released more. Whoever is making these, keep doing it!

Hearing such an articulate, smooth, meticulous voice saying, "What a sh*t show this really was, " was a beautiful moment, even though it was censored. ❤
  • Finally, a horror story channel whose narrator doesn't have an utterly intolerable voice.

I worked at a major amusement park in Missouri, USA, from 1975-77. I was there when an accident happened on a ride that killed some people. It is amazing how the park immediately went into defense mode to protect themselves. They claimed it was checked every morning and found to be safe. But their “checking” consisted of starting it up and riding it across the park. It was a lie. They got a huge roller coaster in 1976 and the checks they did on it were about the same. Fortunately they never had a big disaster on it like this, but that is a matter of luck. Many times people on their coaster died during the ride. I saw them taken off and they were white as a sheet. Clearly they were dead. But they put the body in an ambulance and later the news reports were that they died on the way to the hospital. That way it didn’t look so bad on the park.
  • I have lived in London all my life, have been to Battersea Park hundreds of times, and yet this is the first time I have heard of this. Why isnt is more well known? Such a tragic loss of young lives
  • It's tense when you're on a coaster and it's going up the first incline. To be on one, and it doesn't make the first uphill climb, and starts falling backwards would be absolutely terrifying. I can't imagine the horror those children had to go through.
  • This is an absolutely fantastic video on such a tragic situation. I really do hope more people come across your content as it's incredibly apparent how much effort you put into this and it deserves to be rewarded.
  • Thinking of children being trapped in the wreckage is heartbreaking.

Its tragic that this event happened. But it also shows how safe modern coasters are. The fact that the largest desth toll was 5 is insane when you factor how tall new coasters are plus how many people it can hold. Of course all these new safety features were learned from terrible accidents that involved deaths. Things like backup lock outs for chain lifts and inspections and test runs all have been invented due to deaths and injuries.
  • I just found this channel, and I appreciate the calm, respectful approach you take. There are many channels that produce dramatized retellings of tragic events, and it's very refreshing to find one that doesn't sensationalize the story but instead is informative and factual.
  • This is by far my most beloved random find of a youtube channel! Everything about these videos are absolutely amazing, clearly done with care and wonderful intellect! I without a doubt need more content from this channel and would go as far as to say I'd patron this channel with donations to keep this channel going! 👍
