Honestly, a quiet service is not a trend. It's called professionalism.

I have always been criticized for being silent. It’s mentally exhausting having to make small talk.

Because the whole world is mentally overloaded. We need peace and quiet. Same getting a massage, I don’t want any noise, a chance to decompress and unplug.

I'm in the "quiet" camp, but have found it unnecessary to request it. A good hairdresser/manicurist/masseuse easily understands whether a client wishes to talk, or to remain silent.

I NEVER TALK! I DONT WANT A FRIEND! I WANT TO RELAX! CLOSE MY EYES AND JUST BREATHE! NO KIDS! NO DOG! NO DISHES! NO LAUNDRY! JUST SOMEONE WASHING AND PLAYING WITH MY HAIR! ITS A POOR PERSONS SPA!

Stylists ask way too many personal questions. I'm not applying for a security clearance, just cut my hair.

I don't mind if my hairstylist talks to me. But I wish they had silent massage appointments. When the masseuse talks throughout the massage. I almost want to ask for a do over from the spa. It doesn't happen often but it has happened. When I go in for a massage, I just want to peace, quiet and to relax. Maybe listen to some spa/meditation music.

Don't mind the talking, it's the blaring pop music that I find stressful
