Never been a VW guy or even laid a wrench on one, but I could probably rebuild one blindfolded after I subscribed to this channel
  • The old-timer in the shed behind the engine was what should have been taken home for closer inspection 😉

Thought that was supposed to be an Internal combustion engine - all I can see is External combustion...
  • Mustie is part of my Sunday routine. I have four motorcycles in my garage right now because of him. All four are now running because of him as well.

Everytime you hit that start button the engine is like "Just let me die" and you're like "not today" and you hit the start button again.

And before someone asks a stupid question I'll answer yes it's absolutely supposed to shoot flames out of every nook and cranny that's how you know it's good 👍

I cannot express the happiness, laughs, knowledge and understanding that I’ve learned from watching your channel. Thanks so much and please don’t ever stop.

FYI with the engine out I loosen the spark plugs a hair then spray some lube around them. tighten them back up, work them in and out a bit to get the lube on the threads Then they come out without the aluminum on the threads.

It truly is fun to see a guy that gets SO MUCH ENJOYMENT out of getting old engines to run! Your fundamental approach to getting these engines to run is very refreshing, especially in our “throw away society”!

My first car was a 1960 VW Bug 36hp India Red with the full length sunroof. I actually picked it up from the factory with my father when I was 2 y/o. This video brings back memories of how I learned to work on my own vehicles my entire life. Thank you Mustie1 for this channel. I am now subscribed and will be digging deeper into your library.

Nice cup of tea and a Mustie video just before bed here in Adelaide, Australia. Better than bedtime reading.
