I have the forest version and the blade is alright it keeps a ok edge but for me the arm bar broke so mine is no longer a assisted opening knife it's a nice knife and all but trust me if your going to get something spend the money and you will get a lot better quality but this is just my experience and suggestion.

mine is hard to open too, i use my finger nail to open, seems to have more grip. still hard to open. if anybody know of a fix
