Being wealthy or having an elite family doesn’t make you a chaebol. The title of this video is misleading. Chaebol is a whole different kind of wealthy.

There are around 20-24 chaebol groups in Korea. Chaebol refers to the several dozen large, family-controlled Korean corporate groups, assisted by government financing, which have played a major role in the South Korean economy since the 1960s. Some have become well-known international brand names, such as Samsung, Hyundai, SK, and LG. This is why they (chaebol families) have so much power and authority there. It's acutally a big issue in Korea, because many feel like Chaebols are above the law.

People having professors, directors, doctors as parents and being a descent of a philosopher doesn't make them filthy rich, which a chaebol is supposedly. So while most of them lived a comfortable life it doesn't make them super rich.

Stop using chaebol as its normally reserved for the top 1% of the korean society. And to be honest, it’s rare, almost impossible, that chaebol members are allowed to be in the showbiz industry. No offense to the actors and actresses, but chaebol descendants are set to inherit their family fortune and are naturally geared toward the business world. So no, these people in your list may have comfortable lives growing up, but they’re not who you can consider chaebol😅

Chaebol usually refers to a conglomerate family whose enterprise impacts SK's economy in a significant way. That's why they're so powerful, and often seen as overly influential in law, politics, etc. If such a conglomerate went bankrupt or was ruined in some way, it would have a devastating effect on parts of the country's economy (related to that particular industry, but with possible dominoes effect). I thing Sooyoung and Sungjae are the real chaebols here. Others are just super rich. I think being a chaebol means old money and i remember Sooyoung’s grandfather being the first to build a bridge? ( not quite sure) and Sungjae’s grandad is the first one to bring Koi fish in sk. Both are still so humble. Im a melody and i know how humble sungjae is because he never relied on his family’s wealth and never complained about the quality of life he has even before his debut. He stayed with his hyungs🥺

None of the people here are from the chaebols. The most wealthy one might be choi siwon. The real chaebol in the korea ENT industy is Han Seok-hyun aka DJ Raiden from SM. He's the grandson of founder of SK group, the 2nd largest chaebol next to samsung.

I saw this tiktok video that being a Chaebol is a different kind of wealthy in SoKor. So, I don't think they would choose this path. However not every idols' or actors' personal life is disclosed so possibly there could be a handful of them. It's not cheap to be a trainee so come to think of it, there's still a possibility 😊
