Crimson bellied parrots they bite none stop its in their nature. They don’t bite hard but they chew on to anything 😂. They need to much attention! They are very cute cudly and playful ours is a sweetheart he gets along with everyone. You can easly train him. Also they take time getting used to anything new like toys etc. they will freak out at first just be consistent.

Wow, just watched BirdNerdSophie video on the topic of crimson bellied and all the info is completely opposite. They do bite, are loud, easily agitated, different species from green cheeks so not really comparable and one of the hardest to handle. I guess each one is different and you got lucky with yours.
  • I'm about to adopt a green-cheek conure. The shop owner said he or she I believe it's a boy lost its mate so he's a little honoree. He was used for breeding. She said he does not like people but he took to me immediately and started squawking very loudly when I walked away. He kept licking my finger and she said OMG yes this is unusual he does not like anyone. So I'm on my way to get him now.
  • Now I want a Crimson belly Conure!!! I don’t know if I’ll be successful at finding them around here. I live in New Orleans Louisiana.

Hi, I have a crimson bellied Conure, her name is Tiya and she’s 2 years old. She is such a character, she’s very much on the go and doesn’t sit still for long. She has a good diet (I think 🤔) of veg, sprouts and pellets (which she’s not too keen on) dried flowers and herbs both fresh and dried. She’s very intelligent and loves training, and she’s super attached to me. She loves guests and family members, and although she’s small her character seems to take over the whole house lol. Oh and she’s a bit of a nibbler but had never drawn blood

I just adopted a crimson bellied conure that flew into our house after getting chased by crows. Tried to find for its owner but no one was ready to claim him/her. So i decided to adopt him/her. He is really doing fine with me, wont bite me and always on my shoulder. But if its comes to my mother, he bites her all the time untill he bleeds. Is there any tips on stop this behaviour. He spends most of the time with my mom since i am working 7am-4pm. But still he loves me more than my mom.

how do your parrotlets (smaller bird) get along with the crimson parrot? I have 2 parrotlets and wondering if it would work:)
  • @TheLucaPezz
In your experience, are male or females more affectionate? I am a very clingy bird mom and plan to have mine with me throughout the day. I also want to know if they are comfortable being outside with new people and new experiences? When I finally get my baby, I plan on harness training them.

Thank you so much for this video, so much great info! I'm considering getting a CBC and was wondering now that your CBCs are another year old if they are still pretty much the same? Or if they have developed any other traits? Through my research I've seen a lot of people agree that they are extremely sweet but there also seems to be a number of those who say their CBCs can have sudden mood swings, similar to Cockatoos? Have you ever experienced this with yours? I have 3 med sized dogs and 3 other adults in the house so just trying to figure out if a CBC would be a good fit for us! Thank you!

what is the correct age of maturity for giving the nest box?
  • Is it okay to buy my first crimson conure then introduce another a few months later gradually? These are hard to find. I found a male and I'm planning on buying him soon. He'll have his on cage for a few months before I find another one. But I'm determined to go with crimson :) the one I'm looking at is 1,100 some in my area are 1800 😬
