The hydro poles were put in around 1915/16, by crews that would walk out from Orillia to work all week.Any of the poles in the ponds were put in through the winter.The road was just a path to access the poles until 1954/55. Then it was barely wide enough to get OWLPs Willys Jeep down, until the early 70s, when it started to widen a bit. Used to be if 2 vehicles met, one would have to back up half a km or more to allow them to pass.
